The uber-LIEberal Denver Post has run a character assasination piece about Sisyphus and myself. Please start praying right now that Rubert Murdoch will buy that rag and fire every one of those hippie-commies.

While I can somewhat understand why you feel that article has present some sort of bias, there is one thing that’s definitely true in that article: this blog is profoundly embarrassing for the man you supposedly support. Why? Your views are overwhelmingly of the small minority.

“Your views are overwhelmingly of the small minority.”
You obviously haven’t been to a Southern Baptist Church lately have you?

‘You obviously haven’t been to a Southern Baptist Church lately have you?’
Sorry, but this just backs up his point.

It an’t owned by Murdoch so who reads a rag like this. They are just part of the Liberal Media machine out to discredit anyone on the right.
Comment by BJ Tabor — July 5, 2007 @ 2:47 pm |
Oh, I agree with the article. I went back and forth on whether or not you guys were real for a while. I’m certain you’re fake now. Sisyphus is the only one who can keep the joke going with just the right balance. Mrs C and the others go to far. Still, I enjoy discussing with you guys, and on the off chance that you’re for real, I still agree with the article. This blog can do nothing but hurt Brownback.
Comment by Salmo — July 5, 2007 @ 2:51 pm |
Amen BJ. I wouldn’t line a litter box with that mess for fear the cat would catch some kind of Left-wing worm.
Comment by Mrs. T.D. Gaines-Crockett — July 5, 2007 @ 3:06 pm |
I grant you, Spinochordodes tellinii has some fairly radical ideas on redistribution of wealth, and is pro-UN, but Paragordius tricuspidatus votes straight-ticket Republican every time.

Haha, have the parasitic organism demographic polls been released, interpreted?!
And sorry, Madam Gaines-Crockett, but your Southern Baptist Church comment only reinforces my point even further.

‘Haha, have the parasitic organism demographic polls been released, interpreted?!’
You know, if I were Gaines-Crockett, there’s a really nifty response I could make to that …

“This blog can do nothing but hurt Brownback.”
Oh, there’s nothing this blog can do to Brownback what he hasn’t already done for himself. I say, Rock on. Which exposes me as a helioleftist, doesn’t it?
I absolutely love this blog. My favorite was the 1,200 comment one about heliocentrism (personally, I am 100% convinced the earth is a globe that orbits around the sun, along with a bunch of other planets), where people really, really got into the debate.
Now I love Gaines-Crockett, too. That is some very fine, very convincing commentary. Awesome shtuff (if you get my drift).
Keep up the good work. Through hard work and prayer, I’m certain Brownback will end up right were he belongs…
Comment by MikeM — July 5, 2007 @ 3:33 pm |
Yeah, I just realized that I set myself up with that one. Oh well, I don’t really care what her or the other three dozen people in the world that share her beliefs think, as they have no real influence on anything other than to embarrass the hell out of Brownback.
Comment by adamnelson — July 5, 2007 @ 3:45 pm |
Isn’t this libel? Can we sue?
Comment by Psycheout — July 5, 2007 @ 4:17 pm |
Isn’t every third comment from Gaines-Crockett or Marcia P. about killing millions of people? Can we sue?
Comment by adamnelson — July 5, 2007 @ 4:27 pm |
What on Earth are you talking about?
Comment by Psycheout — July 5, 2007 @ 4:28 pm |
He’s saying that your parody is transparent because they act too much like idiots even for far-right Conservatives.
Comment by adamnelson — July 5, 2007 @ 4:29 pm |
Is there no end to your loathesome hatred for decent people, Adamnelson? The bile and poison you spew comes from a deeply rooted desire to hurt anyone who doesn’t share in your warped political and religious views. Call me whatever you like and mock my beliefs all day long if you wish, but you will never take away my faith. Never.
Comment by Mrs. T.D. Gaines-Crockett — July 5, 2007 @ 4:35 pm |
Loathesome hatred? Me? YOU are the one who has advocated murder, deportation, forced conversion, and torture upon anybody who doesn’t share your beliefs. YOU are the hurtful one here.
Comment by adamnelson — July 5, 2007 @ 4:49 pm |
You guys should’ve stuck with Sisyphus as main poster. He was just plausible enough to shock.
You’ve jumped the shark with Mrs Gaines-Crockett though. Standard issue SoCon.

SoCon?
Comment by adamnelson — July 5, 2007 @ 5:44 pm |
I’m sure you’re sincere Mrs. T.D., but I think Sisyphus may be a poof.
Comment by Bob Baffet — July 5, 2007 @ 5:49 pm |
He just might be a poof, but I think he’s also a spoof. That might be what you meant 🙂

Mike, have you been “Ming” to your computer again? Stop thinking nasty thoughts.

This blog is certianly high humor. Reading you liberals’ mental gymnastics about how we just have to be a parody because we don’t believe the same things you do is the funnyist thing I’ve came across in a while. I suppose instead of being amused I should be appalled at how closed minded posters like adamnelson and Curious are.
Comment by BJ Tabor — July 5, 2007 @ 6:24 pm |
Concon:an insincere blog that appeals to the less intelligent among those of us on the right in American politics. See Brownback.
Comment by Bob Baffet — July 5, 2007 @ 6:27 pm |
What did I say that was close-minded? I love this site, it’s a riot.
Comment by Curious — July 5, 2007 @ 6:28 pm |
@24: Have you seen their alleged stance on heliocentrism?
Comment by Linus — July 5, 2007 @ 6:49 pm |
I’m worried now. If Sisyphus might not be real, then how can I tell if I’m real or not?

As opposed to the low level name calling by those like you when someone who doesn’t agree with you posts something? Considering the extremes to which your views go this being “parody” doesn’t seem like an unlikely thought to run through someone’s mind. Ever think of that?
Comment by La Mona — July 5, 2007 @ 7:16 pm |
BJ- ah, I love how someone like you can acuse adamnelson and Curious of being close minded.
i loved the article. i was particularly tickled by the bit that refered to refrigerators as being miracles. XD XD
Comment by axia — July 5, 2007 @ 7:29 pm |
The problem with parody is that you can only keep it up for so long. Eventually you overreach yourself and give the game away.
Comment by Atheists for Jesus — July 5, 2007 @ 7:39 pm |

“BJ- ah, I love how someone like you can acuse adamnelson and Curious of being close minded.”
Aw, thanks axia. Glad to know that this disgustingly massive hypocrisy doesn’t go completely unnoticed.
The idea isn’t that we believe this is a parody because your beliefs aren’t our own. It’s that such a medieval level of thought and intelligence (purportedly) exists in this modern age. You’re like a cro magnon dropped into a shopping mall.
Comment by Adam Nelson — July 5, 2007 @ 8:57 pm |
“What on Earth are you talking about?”
I’m saying Mrs. Gaines-Crockett, Marcia P, etc are far too extreme in their views to an extend that no rational person could be. As was pointed out above, Sisyphus stays just barely inside the realm of plausibility. You’re not bad either, Psycheout. The others are more like Stephen Colbert. Never breaking character, but making it obvious in their delivery that they are a parody.
Comment by Salmo — July 5, 2007 @ 10:19 pm |
If my dedication to our Savior and my comittment to promoting healthy Conservative values makes me irrational in your book, then consider I’ll happily accept your title. I will never waiver in my core beliefs. Not for you or anyone else.
Comment by Mrs. T.D. Gaines-Crockett — July 6, 2007 @ 6:25 am |
Gaines-Crockett, if you will never waiver in your core beliefs (for me or anyone else) then why are you so afraid of alternate points of view? You’re constantly discrediting Liberal points of view and just as often pushing Conservative points of view. If it were so self-explanatory, people would all be extreme-right Christians like you. But they’re not. In fact, most people are Centre-left to centre-right Christians.
The fact that you react with such hostility to things different from your own way of life shows you’re not terribly secure with the abilities of your own. If you were secure, you wouldn’t react with such outrage at other people’s opinions.
Comment by Adam Nelson — July 6, 2007 @ 7:27 am |
Man, why are people coming down so hard on the good Mrs. Gaines-Crockett?
Please, read the Sinners Exposed postings (they come out on Thursdays), and tell me how they read. I laugh pretty hard when I read them.
Please, people, go here:
http://baptistsforbrown2008.wordpress.com/2007/07/05/ten-commandment-thursday-post-a-sin-2/
Now that’s… Wonderful.
Landover is a great website, and I wonder now why it took so long to come up with a blog from roughly the same POV. I think it’s great. Some really heart-felt postings here; those are my favorite postings.
I feel certain I’ll hit this honor roll in the near future. What do I gotta do, TD?
I finally felt compelled to read about Sisyphus, too. Awesome reference. Look it up, people.
(Still pushing that rock?)

God bless Senator Brownback! May his many enemies be smitten like Satan in the end times! That’s all I have to say to this thread. Others have said my other thoughts much better than I could.
Comment by Marcia P. — July 6, 2007 @ 11:33 am |
LOL! So tell me, when exactly are these “end times”? Were you one of those simple-minded crazies that picketed with a “The End Is Near!!!!” sign on new years eve 1999?? LOL
Comment by Adam Nelson — July 6, 2007 @ 1:07 pm |
Hah, what a list there, Gaines-Crockett! Sheesh, you do carry a lot of baggage.
Comment by Adam Nelson — July 6, 2007 @ 1:12 pm |
What´s up, can´t you take the flak anymore? Or why are you crying like little brats for Rupert Murdoch to solve your problems?
“You obviously haven’t been to a Southern Baptist Church lately have you?”
I don´t think that mayn people have been to such a church anytime in their life…
And definitely, this blog is the perhaps best parody I have ever seen. (And if it´s no parody, I can congratulate the people running it on scaring away the broad majority of voters from ever giving Brownback a single vote.)
