Obama: Schizophrenic or Two-Faced?

SchizoTrying to please everyone while satisfying no one is a mark of a master (or “maverick”) politician. If that’s true, hunky nutroots pinup model Barack Hussein Obama is well on his way.

Is Barack Obama a liberal hawk or a Democratic dove? The freshman Illinois senator doesn’t seem to have made up his mind yet.

And he never will. It’s got to be difficult to be on both the right and left of Hillary Clintoon. Presenting Junior Senator Barack Obama in stereo!

On the left:

At the last Democratic debate Obama was a peacemaker, pledging summits with Cuba, Iran, Venezuela, Syria and North Korea in his first year as president — a stance Hillary Clinton derided as “irresponsible and naive.”

On the right:

Then at the Wilson Center he was a terror-fighter, delivering a tough (by the standards of his party) speech pledging to pursue al Qaeda terrorists in Pakistan whether the government in Islamabad gives us permission or not.

First let’s compare Obama’s “left” to Cindy Sheehan:

“it is a disgrace that we have not spoken to them.”

“The notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them — which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this administration — is ridiculous.”

Now let’s compare Obama’s “right” to President Bush:

“There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again. It was a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance to take out an al Qaeda leadership meeting in 2005. If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will.”

Oops! Those were both Obama quotes! Fooled you, didn’t I?

Call it operation “shock and audacity.” A few prominent liberal bloggers were predictably incensed, with Jerome Armstrong going so far to accuse Obama of being a convert to the “Bush-Cheney Doctrine.”

Oh no, Barack, you’ve just possibly lost the nutroots. Thankfully the drooling Kos Kidz Kult is too busy at Yearly Kooks (and too stupid) to notice.

It’s got to be hard to be both to the right and to the left of Shrillary Clinton without ripping oneself in two. Somehow I doubt that Mr. Obama (and his mind) will survive it.

How can the two-faced boy beat the triangulating girl? He can’t. Three beats two. Bye bye, Barack.

NOTE: Pakistan was most pleased:

Pakistan accused Democratic US presidential candidate Barack Obama of “sheer ignorance” today for threatening to launch US military strikes against al-Qaeda on Pakistani soil.

Hmmm, so much for diplomacy.  But don’t worry, Pakistan, he’ll soon shift to the left again.  If you don’t like something Obama says, just wait a few minutes and he’ll say something entirely different.  Who knows?  Obama could become our first pendulum President.

  2. And what about it? So he´s pro-diplomacy, but anti-terror.

Or is it that hard for any right-wing nutjobs to actually realise that the liberals don´t like terrorists, either?

And he´s right. Not talking to a country a sort of a punishment IS ridiculous. It´s like a little brat would behave. It´s utterly childish.

And I´d welcome him as a candidate. At least more than Hillary.

  3. […] goals are clear.  Just what are Mitt’s?  It’s bad enough that a candidate wants to frolic with our enemies.  Now it appears we have one that wants to emulate them.  No thanks.  Just say no to Willard […]

Maybe it wouldn’t be so hard to swallow if you guys would throw us a bone once in a while. After 9/11 your side should have supported America instead of Al-Qaeda once or twice so that you could come across as patriotic when necessary.
