I’m very conflicted about this. First of all, this anime (Japanese animation), like all animes I have seen, is not for children. Let me repeat that: it’s definitely not for children (or kodomo as the perverted Japanese say). It’s probably not even suitable for adults. It is one of the vilest programs to ever be broadcast anywhere at any time, so it might be dangerous just to bring attention to it.
Let me start again. The first time I wrote about anime, it was about a sick little show called Higurashi no Naku something something something. Whatever. A better name would be Higurashi no Watchi. It inspired the piece that parents everywhere have praised, Anime Encourages Murder. Due to an anime caused axe murder, an episode of the violent snuff show Higurashi no Watchi was delayed. But it was not the only murder inspiring anime that was postponed. So was the final episode of another title deceptively called “School Days.” Slice of life school drama? No. It’s a slice of flesh pervert fest topped off with buckets of blood. No joke.
Because the reaction to the original investigative report was so positive, I went undercover once again into the seamy world of illegal fansubs to learn more about this other anime. And at first I was fascinated, then disgusted and then shocked beyond belief. Finally I vomited, overwhelmed and disgusted by the craven debauchery and sheer violence. Then I prayed for guidance and cleansing of my soul. School Days is just about the sickest thing ever dreamed up. But I’m conflicted.
School Days does educate the viewer about what horrors pre-marital sex can and is likely cause, but at what price? It just might steal your soul, so I beg you not to watch it. I already did, for you, dear readers. And I’m not sure it was worth it, even for the sake of objective journalism. I may have nightmares for months. I may even need therapy for the rest of my life.
School Days starts out innocently enough. A young boy in high school finds himself attracted to a girl (Katsura) in his school. He secretly snaps a photo of the young lady with his cellphone camera because the misguided and G-dless people of Japan apparently believe that if you take a secret peepshow photo of someone and nobody discovers your crime for three weeks you can have your way with that person. Isn’t that crazy?
The young man named Makoto would probably have gone no further with his sick fantasy but for the fact that a saucy young trollop, Saionji-san (or some other silly name) who sits next to him in class notices the picture and vows to help him take advantage of the innocent young waif. A young girl vows to help deflower one of her own. Disgusting.
She gives him some advice about how to get the young lady to put out for him, but ultimately finds herself unable hold back her own young simmering lust. She wants him too. And not just to hold his hand. Pretending to be a friend helping out, she exacts her reward for helping the young man and his target get together. She plants him a kiss right on the mouth, just like those dirty French people, with loud and lascivious squishy sounds and lots of saliva. Nothing is left to the imagination.
And it goes downhill from there. Is this an innocent love triangle that leads to marriage? No. It’s a story of the tempting of a confused young man and his descent into the pits of hell. If you wish to actually watch this pornographic and sickening violent garbage without being spoiled as to the gruesome ending read no further. Not to ruin the ending for you or nothing but yeccch. It’s really bad.

The confused and insecure young man is apparently a staple of Japanese anime these days. He’s awkward and shy around girls. So is Makoto, but as the anime progresses, we find that his harlot friend is able to turn this young man (by raping him) into a disgusting little sociopath who is only interested in sowing his seed into all of the girls in his school. And he does. And the viewer is forced to watch it all as innocent girl after innocent girl is soiled by Makoto’s perverted and unquenchable thirst for thrills. Even prayer does not make it stop. And to make matters worse, he has no feelings whatsoever for any of these girls that he uses and discards like used toilet paper. What an awful message to send to children! (NOTE: As shown below, the voyeuristic camera angles reward its jaded viewers with an endless parade of “panty shots.” These are very popular in hedonistic Japan.)
His best whore friend, well the girl who pretends to be his best friend, becomes his love buddy, pretending to help him learn more about girls and how to have sex with them herself gets all lusty about Makoto and lets herself get impregnated by him. She then ignores the fact that he’s doing all the other girls in school too. Fortunately she refuses to go to an abortuary to murder the baby growing in her womb, but that is of little solace considering the debauchery that permeates this program.
Although Sekai helps Makoto and the original object of his desire get together, she wants him for herself. Too bad for her, the object of Makoto’s desire, Katsura, turns out to be as crazy as Shrillary Clinton. She starts out all coy and shy and then, for no reason at all gets all slutty and nasty. It really is disheartening to watch.
When Makoto, disgusted by the slut his former friend turned out to be decides he prefers the girl who’s not knocked up after all, the former friend rewards this choice by stabbing him to death in graphic detail with gurgling and rolling of eyes. It’s bloodlust animated in full for the thrills of its depraved audience. A catchy tune plays in the background, assuring viewers that murder is okay, cool even. The crazy object of Makoto’s desire then discovers and collects the remains and calls out the whore to the roof of the school and very calmly hacks her to death.
In the end the original girlfriend, Katsura, then slices the whore girl, Sekai, open to find out that she was not pregnant after all and she takes Makoto’s head on a soothing boat trip where she hugs the severed head and proclaims her love for it.
How sick is that?
No lesson, no pathos, nothing but sex and violence after starting out looking like a typical school romance. It makes me ill.
Anime. It must be banned. It is sick and it is wrong.
Yuck.
Conclusion
Why am I conflicted about this cartoon? I am conflicted because at least this show demonstrates the folly of treating young ladies as sex objects before marriage. Once married, a man can treat a young woman however he likes. It is not only his right, but his obligation. School Days also shows what kind of women have sex before marriage. They’re pathological nuts, craving illicit sex and wanton violence. But I think this show objectifies the crazy and stupid young women too much and attempts to make them attractive and desirable. Although they are crazy, they are shown as objects of desire. Desire that should rightfully be confined within the holy bonds of matrimony. Any extra curricular activity should be viewed as sick and wrong.
Don’t watch this trash. And don’t let your children. It will warp their minds and turn them into hentai seeking perverts. If your local school life is anything like that depicted in School Days, the case can be made for same-sex schools, or better yet, homeschooling. But fortunately America is nowhere near as twisted as Japan. That’s a well-known fact.
Parents wishing to research this for themselves before this snuff cartoon is ultimately banned can find the series on the underground fansub site called Anime Suki. You might want to schedule a therapy session in advance.

This phrase utilizes twice in such a short time the word “use,” and by doing so the impact of the statement is lost. Instead, one feels like one is reading an unedited student’s paper from the seventh grade. One “use” would have been dandy and had exactly the effect that you desired.
You know, I seem to remember somewhere reading a story about a privileged and pretty girl who falls for and tempts a young man towards debauchery, and when she is rejected for another she beheads him and then kisses his “cold dead lips,” (Thank you Norma). I believe her name was Salome (with an accent aigu, which these bloody American keyboards do not type).

I’m not really sure whether Makoto actually uses toilet paper. That is thankfully not shown in the anime. But perhaps I could have worded it better.

Dio, actually I posted another article on anime back in September 2007 which was about a hatchet murder committed by a fan of Higurashi. Several stations in Japan delayed an episode of that show as well as School Days, the subject of this post.

I admit that School Days isn’t the greatest anime the japanese has produced but now you are just being plain racist. You are a perfect example of a racist person who stereotypes. It is true that Hentai does exist in Japan but in the US and many other developed countries, pornography is still very active. So basically, you are a sick hypocrite. Have you watched all forms of anime and explored all types of it? Alas, it´s pretty much a quite graphical tragedy from a story POV. Not the comedy or action-trope that most americans seem to like so much, but then, it wasn´t primarily produced for an US audience in the first place.

It’s clear you haven’t watched enough anime to be making such claims. Your inability to swallow even Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is enough to prove that. School Days is far from a good anime and to stereotype against all anime or even the Japanese culture off of one series that seemed to make you wet yourself is laughable.

Ok I admit School Days was sick and disguisting…..BUT America makes much worse shows. Take for example Born. It was a sick and disturbing show which featured demons,sex,blasphemy AND more blood and gore than School Days had. I also forgot to mention that all these demons,sex,blasphemy,blood and gore was only during the first 20 min of the show. I decided to turn the DVD player off after that and throw away the disc. School Days was NEVER this bad.

So, you say that because this anime had some adult themes in it suddenly every anime that has existed is equally as terrible? That’s like watching Southpark and then saying every cartoon made in america is equally as profane, which is an idiotic assumption. Please think before you go on these rants.
I just watched this anime and I must say it isn’t nearly as bad as you make it sound. There is never a scene where explicit nudity is shown, which is more than I can say of most rated ‘R’ movies here in the states. In my opinion the anime taught a lesson, that is, to not be indecisive and sleep with whatever girls throw themselves at you, you just get screwed over in the end 🙂
IMO, if you don’t like it, don’t watch it. That’s what I’ve always said about the crap america puts out, it goes the same for any other country.

like cardcaptors,pokemon,hamtaro, even some that weren’t aired in america liketokyo mew mew, animal yokocho,leave it to piyoko, and a little snow fairy sugar. all great series for young children. stuff like dragonball z and the american version of naruto, hikaru no go for pre teens. there’s death note full metal alchemist the japanese version of naruto inuyasha ranma1/2 for older teens. this show called school days was obviously aimed at much older teens and adults. and sometimes (though this may be stepping it a little) it’s important to teach kids the truth in the most blatant uncensored way possible. i haven’t seen the series but it doesn’t seem as blatant as a pornography. either grow up aned get a life or move to some uncharted island with the rest of the judgmental crazy people who think somethings wrong before they even understand it!!!!!!! geez!!!!!!

you are so wrong! Not only do you insult the Japanese culture, you watch two anime shows before passing judgement. there are two different kinds of anime and manga, shojo and shonen. The one you were watching contains much more sex, blood and gore than the other. The manga and anime enjoyed by many really are pure stories. Before you decide to start a petition banning all forms of Japanese culture, try watching friendlier, more popular shows and read the stories. Try Kitchen Princess, Meru Puri, Fushigi Yugi, Ceres, Negima, and Ranma 1/2. You may find these to be much more enjoyable and suitable for teenagers.
In fact, I myself am only fourteen years old and have been so touched by these stories and others that I have aspired to learn the beautiful Japanese language and to someday move to Japan to be a teacher. Does this sound like it has been a completely inappropriate and immoral situation to you? If so, I’m afrain\d you are sadly mistaken.

You’re a pretty decent troll, you’ve fooled this many people in to thinking this is serious, after reading your nanoha review I was skeptical that this was a true blue try to hate on some anime for a bit of nudity.
Then someone sent this one to me, and that pretty much confirmed it.
I know I don’t have to mention this to you, you know it already.
School Days isn’t a Kodomo anime, it’s a Seinen which is more or less adults only, same type as Black Lagoon, Death note, and the such.
This show wasn’t ment for kids to watch, even in japan; but hell you got enough people beleiving this garbage that they think it’s real.

I too was shocked when I watched this anime, it is very shocking. However, I find your tone sickening and your myopia abhorrent.
Like battle royale this depicts young students corrupted by circumstance to commit terrible acts. The effect is deliberately alienating and unsettling. The protagonist who your sympathies initially reside with is turned into a Dorian Grey, charming on the outside but utterly corrupt within, and the innocent school-time idyll is turned on its head.
Like battle royale, and another social satire which shocked at the time – Lord of the flies, this was never meant to keep you in your comfort zone. However, if you lack the intelligence to realize that this was intended to highlight the sinister trends of sexual manipulation and moral abandonment within modern (youth)culture, then I can only suggest you stop posting such bile, and try to find better uses for your time.
As many others have already posted here, anime as an entertainment contains both the sweetest and most wholesome images imaginable, as well as the darker elements aimed at thoughtful adults. Watch a show such as fruits basket, spirited away, or my neighbour totoro if you have not yet appreciated just how positive anime can be.

You are simply an idiot… you even lied in the story… How old are you supposed to be anyway? I can’t believe you can’t take this much… No lesson??? Well man I wasn’t bothered with you bashing school days, but when you brought higurashi into the mix then I had to get involved. I will admit, higurashi is quite the bloodfest, and school days is indeed a very vulgar show, but I feel you judge things too quickly. There are such things as anime’s that aren’t disturbing, and hentai is not my thing so I’m not really against you on that, but just because of that is it right to call Japanese society messed up? I do believe America can be seen as a seriously MESSED up place, not only with all these sexual elements on tv and in our homes, but I trust you have heard of two girls one cup? Seriously, it’s an Anime ffs. And most of the Anime titles were never meant for the younger audience. I’m pretty sure you’re aware of that.
And what a softy are you?
Yes, well I was kinda shocked by the ending (not to mention i watched the whole series in a 1 day’s time, which gave a rather bigger impact than if I’d watch just 1-2 eps per day). But all I ended up with was a slight 2-day long depression (which I usually get after seeing a rather freaky/weird/sad ending).
When you’re watching an Anime, you should realize that:
a) it’s an Anime for god’s sake!
b) Japs are known for letting their imagination go wild, due to which Anime stands out from all of the casual cartoons.
c) …well ok, Anime isn’t even a cartoon. It’s an animated novel/game adaptation ok?
d) considering the 3 facts above, you should be prepared to suffer mental traumas whenever the scenario goes from bad to worse.
And about the sexual part… nowadays, I doubt there’s an Anime which doesn’t have suggestive themes.
The only problem here is you and the rest of those softies out there who get mental traumas and nightmares from watching something that’s … animated?
If you don’t like it, then DON’T watch it!
And if you get offended and mentally traumatized so easily, you should see a psychiatrist, aether than write screwed up blog entries like this one.
My own conclusion would be:
1. It’s a rather nice Anime I guess, yet ofcourse it’s in no way suitable for the younger audience
2. Regarding the ending, something rather unexpected, but the guy should have seen that coming. Tells alot us, guys, of possible circumstances for treating the female population only as objects of sexual interest
3. The world should get rid of fked up individuals like you

I came upon this article/blog/troll while researching School Days in the effort to see if I could take all that happens and while I was on on sight I was soon redirected to this through link and thought I’d take a peek. At first I was agreeing with you but your comments became more and more ridiculous. I may not want to watch this anime but that does not mean that I will walk away thinking all anime is evil, now that’s just naive. Anime is not a genre, after all, it is like television in the United States meaning that it is very broad. Directed for different age groups and different genders and not everyone in Japan watches anime and not everyone is as black and white as you, yourself, portrayed them. Also I am not a fan of hentai nor shonens (more so that I am faint at heart) so adding to that I watch shojo anime like Sailor Moon, Powerpuff Girls Z, Baby and Me, Fruits Basket, and many other ones that are not even close to School Days. Yet you watch two seinens and figure that all of Japan is nuts of it, well you’re wrong and also in this article you show just how racist and sexist you really are. Women are not objects not are we evil and I do not think french kissing or having sex before marriage makes any one as sinful as you think. I know that it goes against religion to do so but doesn’t religion also say that we should forgive one another? Everyone has different tastes you know that doesn’t make anyone evil. They are different compared to Americans so what? What does that matter? And personally people like you are what make America such a hard place to live in. You with your closed-minded and “I’m the only one right” sort of attitude. I hope you didn’t think people are actually goining to hail you because they are not. I think, people in our time can handle these kinds of anime. Well, of course it’s not for little children
like Western cartoons. However, I would’nt think of letting teenage girls and boys watch it as a bad idea
because it has an enlightening way of showing how some people are too weak-minded to ressist against temptation. What I wanted to add here, is that not only one is full to blame, but also others, because it always takes two people for that kind of things. And how I’ve seen the series so far, the girls were not as innocent as they’re claimed to be. If you have a closer look, the ones who started all the love/sex scenes are those “innocent” girls. Finally, the end led to a catharsis which would people rather stop being perverted instead of encouraging them to do it.

I watched School Days…twice, and i admit it’s not the best anime ever. It was based in an eroge (erotic game) with multiple endings depending of how you conduct the dialogs, and they chose the worst ending of the game to place in the anime which was a pity. Because there are good endings, and extremely romantic ones.
Yes, it’s not for children, it’s for adults… just like an horror movie, or a thriller.
I spoke with my dad after the Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni article and also this one, and you really should take away your arrogant words about “parental approval upon your knowledgeable words”. Because my dad said, you are completely narrow minded, and inclusively, retarded. And he is 50 years old… Not some young dad on a premature relationship who doesn’t know what he is doing…and… he is a doctor, a fine one!
My dad is a huge fan of French and Belgium cartoons and also American and marvel. He doesn’t like the drawing style of Japanese manga but he acknowledges it quite well because he is aware i watch anime since i am 7!
And he said…cartoons are not for children in any place any style. There are cartoons for kids, teens, adults, all kind of tastes (sports, magic, music, religion, etc), and opinions, and this in America, Japan, France.

I haven’t seen anything weird about school days… yes, it’s not one of my favorites, i was disgusted by Makoto’s conduct, but i couldn’t stop watching to check out how far would he go, i think the end was completely stupid, and all that. But it’s not something you never see in school, actually in a generation where you turn on the music channels and you see people of all colors and proveniences rubbing themselves against each other on discos, clubs, etc… you can come and tell…that this is totally not normal is a school, where boys and girls spend much more than half of the day? America created Jurassic Park 3, Twilight, and Madea Goes to Jail. Those were far more sickening, disturbing, and damaging to society than anything Japan has kicked out. They taught people it’s okay to cheat the public out of their hard-earned money as long as you make a profit. And those movies’ rating allowed kids and teens to see them. God, what were Steven and Tyler thinking? At least, Japan warns that certain animes aren’t for kids or even adults at times. America, sadly, has the guts to have 5 star ratings surrounding bad movies.
Also, school days was pretty good. It was disturbing but so was Saw, Friday the 13th, and any other Horror movie. I haven’t named an American cartoon yet because most of them aren’t even in the same genres as animes(or they are bad knockoffs).

She does infact mean only good in this situation, she means to help Makoto meet her, and have contact with her so they may be friends, and then he may have a chance of DATING her, not doing horrible tings to her. And third, Her own kind.? Are you meaning to say that all women are on one side and all men are on the other.? She is not deflowering Katsura, at this point she is doing nothing but trying to help her friend Makoto inwhich she has a crush on, and hopes to be able to be frieds with him, and be known as someone nice and reliable, Betraying her own kind, we are not seperate races, and now that you have said this I know you are a girl, that says alot.

– Ultimatley, I am very veerrry amused by your little hypocritical jabs towards japanese people, but now look, the little writing girl has made racism a more well known fact about her, infact, no she is not even in the boundaries of race anymore, but she is in languages! French people, wow.
Start off, As Makoto begins to date Katsura, inwhich they both like eachother, and want to just be together, of course , knowing men, and that is all, just knowing that they have sometimes a stronger sex drive than women, Makoto one day reaches for Katsura’s breast while they share a kiss on the roof top of the school, Katsura is then stratled, she gasps and turns away, Makoto apalogizes for his actions, he has now found that Katsura is a very shy person. Makoto then when asked how his relationship is going by Saionji tells her that he, NOT trying to make her have sexual intercourse with him which is the definition these days of “putting out” scum bag, But that he tried to touch Katsura and she was frightened, further more Saionji tells Makoto how you cannot roughly grab a woman’s breast if you are to grab it at all, she is NOT giving him advice on how to make Katsura have sex with him. Also, you talk of how Saionji wants to be with Makoto aswell, what you have never wanted to be with a man.? After telling Makoto that he needs to be more gentle and slow with a girl, she does later give him a kiss, there actually was no slurping noises of any sort, and saliva, that picture is probably from later in the story, the first time Saionji gives Makoto a kiss, it is quick, and silent, and not tongue connected, I am not shure that anyone as surprised as Makoto at the time would just randomly “Sluuuuurp” Back when hit with a surprise kiss foirm a chick who was not even his girlfriend. You say “Like thos dirty french people, you are writing an article criticing this anime honey, you are Not being asked to bitch about the way that french people kiss, and there is no damn difference, unless you know from personal experience, inwhich you are most definatly a hypocrite. And again, you are dramatizing this way to much, so much that it is inacurate.
Also, I wonder, when you say “nothing left for the imagination” Does this mean that, you were disapointed that this show shows the gory details.? Tell me when you watch a show, do you “imagine” their tonges slowly sliding together, in a wet saliva filled hug of mouth to mouth ness.? Again, you slurr off to the point too much.

What are they tying you up and strapping your eyes open.? NO! They have this on the internet, you may watch it, you can cloe the wondow, the “poor veiwers” must be mentally disabled if they don’t like something and can’t lift their hand to turn it off. Again, you say “innocent girl after innocent girl” to make is seem like he is raping them, honestly The only reply to that is you are so god damn dramatic, again, the girls came on to him, he didn’t just ask them to fuck him, and you say “they were soiled!!” What now sex is a crime.? She likes Makoto yes, she sleeps with him yes, no you must be A very confused person, because Saionji does not know that Makoto is doing all the other girls in the school, she is clueless, Your timing for this, is completely off, for awhile, it was “training” according to Saionji, but soon they began to date, and Katsure was slowly pushed out, the began to sort of numbly be seeing eachother, but they were becoming unclose, Saionji does not allow herself to be impregnated, yes she becomes pregnant, she did not want it to happen, she shows this by sitting in her room for the next week and half missing school throwing and and scared about what will happen. Saionji, does become Makoto’s “fuck buddy” But to her this was a relationship, since the festival, when they began acting like a couple in public, and danced together at the bon fire, she thought that they were a couple, and maybe Makoto did too, or he just though her worhtless like all the others, but that is not sick girl that is fact, he was a user.
Paragragh eleven
Disheartening you say.? Of course Saionji wants Makoto for herslef, she is absolutley inlove with him, but so is Katsura, women have this thing, where, when the really want someone, they do things for them, stupid things or not, to make them happy, to make them want to be with them, Katsura, wanted Makoto, therefore, knowing how much he enjoys sex, she decides to Not become slutty, but sexual, she allows him to touch her. It is not disheartening to watch again you are just trying to act like you are truly disgusted, you are too drammatic.
Paragragh Twelve
– You are too niave, you are honestly telling me that Makoto, the jigalo, was “desgusted” by Katsura’s consent to have sex with him.? Give us all a break woman, he was not desgusted, he was delighted, he did not decide he preffered Saionji, she came over after he and Katsura Makeout infront of her in his door way when she comes to yell at him for just leaving her when she became pregnant, she was angry, and when she returns, Makoto, Confused, not preffering, lets her in to his home, and offers to make tea, then Being angry and hurt by his lack of caring for her, Saionji continues to stab him, he left her, for no reason, she did nothing wrong, he played her, and now that she needs him the most he blows her off, he deserved it.
Yes ther eis the “rolling of eyes” And the oh so terrible “gurgling of blood and saliva being spewed from him as he cultivates in nshock and terror” But that is only realistic. In the backround plays not a catchy tune, but something sounding rather sad, sounding hurt and beaten, it is not enshuring that murder is okay, again, you are being drammatic, so much that it is making false accusations, murder is not kool, it is a sad moment in the anime, when Saionji realizes she has no chance with ever being happy with Makoto, and that he is furthermore an asshole.
– When Katsura finds Makoto murdered, and it is obvious who did it, she takes his head and puts it in a bag, then she contin ues to use Makoto’s cell phone to text Saionji, pertending to be Makoto, and meets her on the roof. While there, Katsure proceeds to kill Saionji in a act of revenge, she is trammatized, do not act as if you hadn’t just seen the boy you loved murdered on the floor you would not want to kill the one who did it. we are all vengful.
Paragragh thirteen
– Honestly, you just had to add “whore girl” to this last sentence, that shows how “classy” and childish you are, again, you are way too emotional and you have too much voice in your writing, you put yourself here to write an opinion, not to express all ov=f your I’m very shure well looked into deep feelings on this film. When Katsura cuts her open, I am positive that Saionji would not have lied about this pregancy, obviously, you would not be able to see the fetus, since it had only been about a week that she had been pronounced pregnant, therefore the baby, would be only still a tiny cell, I did not see Katsura with a micro scope. Yes it was messed up how Katsura takes Makoto’s head and then does not profess her love but just say how wonderful it is that they can be together now, on a boat, I find she was traumatized, and already a bit nicked in the head, it was a good ending.
Conclusion.?

Oh, come on. School Days might not of been the best anime, but still, you are so going overboard with this blog. I’m not trying to be rude, but it seems to me that YOU were when you claimed Japan was more twisted than America. And there are a lot of animes that Japan has created that kids all ages have watched. The part that threw me off the most was that you didn’t include the lesson in your conclusion. The whole point of this anime was that if you make careless mistakes like Mokoto and Sekia, things backfire on you. All I am trying to say is that you should stop being so negitive. I mean, there were a lot of good things to this anime other than the gore and sexual content. If you want to see any good animes than you should go for the more popular ones. In case you didn’t know the names the Japanese have a meaning, such as saionji meaning temple. By the way I watched Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and School Days this year and I am only 16. I even go to church and find no wrong in these anime. I told my mom, who also goes to church, about these anime and showed her scenes from them and she doesn’t care that I watch them as long as they dont show any effect on my mentality.

Well, I think there are two possibilities here, of which only one is really plausible.
1. You truly believe all of this and are the racist about a hundred people think you are.
2. You’re a damn good troller.
Now, for the sake of sanity, I’m going to hope the second. I think the ton of other people posting insults have already made an argument against you (if the first option is true), but there is something that they failed (or at least I think they failed…I didn’t read through everything) to point out.
Anime is art. Art knows no limitations and embraces all aspects of humanity, be it good, bad, disgusting, or divine. There is also good and bad art.
I find it interesting that someone mention the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion on here. That is a perfect example of a piece of good art. Intelligent, moving, beautiful. It teaches others and shows them things about their hearts that their brains would never have known.
That is the kind of soul that I have come to respect in anime. Amoung useless novels gaining popularity about vampires, werewolves, and stereotypical teenagers without any true depth to them, I look to the work of Japan to bring me hope that there is still some intelligence in the creative world.
Of course, Japan is a completely different country than America. Read a novel like Underground, which is basically a collection of interviews with various Japanese walks of life, and you get a sense of that culture in all of its aspects. Yes, there is evil in the world. Everywhere. But, obviously, how can evil exist without good?
Perhaps you are as I hope, just a bored old fool trying to get a rise out of people. Perhaps you really do think on such a limited field. So either way, I hope you’ve appreciated what I’m trying to say, as someone who already knows or as someone who could learn.
Hope you had fun watching Japan’s version of America’s My Bloody Valentine. I agree, you should try Elfen Lied next. Then you can slowly escalate to the more mature anime by Gainax, Chibli, or Shaft that I’m sure you’ll be able to handle someday. ^-^

I love Japanese anime but when I watched this particular one (I didn’t read the comments before, so I thought was some kind romantic school stuff), I must agree with it isn’t either suitable for adults. I’d wish that people have this talent to drawing so good animes (because the drawings are really good), could to put it into something nicest. Also if the intention of doing this was to give some sort of message for teenegers I really hope they never watch it.The least important is the explicit sexual sequences. The person who wrote this is a racist and a liar. If the author is reading this and wants to skip past my furious rants and attacks to find my point, he/she can scroll down to the bottom of this comment and read it there.
I read through a few paragraphs and thought something was fishy with this story, so I myself “went undercover into the seamy world of illegal fansubs to learn more” about this anime.
Basically, everything I had read for the first two paragraphs of this blog was a downright lie.
1) Let me start by highlighting the true statements…
The author is correct in that this show is “definitel not for children”, as it does indeed suggest at sexual intercourse (though the intercourse itself is not shown) and it’s climax at the end does indeed feature two disgusting acts of bloody violence.
2) Axe murder
There was indeed a tragic incident in Japan which saw a young girl kill her own father with an axe because she “didn’t like him.” As to whether it was anime-related, none of my sources have suggested it but none have denied it either.
3) “School Days does educate the viewer about what horrors pre-marital sex [lie censored] [might] cause”
When you cheat on your girlfriend, bad things happen. When you cheat on your pregnant girlfriend, really bad things happen. When you cheat on your pregnant, emotionally traumatized teenage girlfriend who already feels that she’s just lost almost everything, really, really, really bad things happen.
4) “School Days starts out innocently enough. A young boy in high school finds himself attracted to a girl (Katsura) in his school. He secretly snaps a photo of the young lady with his cellphone camera”
This is the opening. Author then proceeds to lie about the actions and intentions of the characters to make them appear vile and also proceeds to spew unfounded racism out of every orifice in his/her body.
5) There is scattered truth throughout the author’s description of the early plot, though it is mixed in with an enormous serving of his/her own disgusting mindset. Seriously, when you see a boy and a girl kiss, do you notice the transfer of passion and love or do you notice squishy sounds and saliva? Apparently the author notices the latter, but my thoughts upon watching this scene were something along the lines of “How cute, unrequited love.” mixed in with a little “Oh boy, here comes the love triangle.”
That’s it. Yes, the rest is all opinions and lies. Considering that the author appears to believe him/her self to be devout religiously, I’m surprised and disappointed that they have so blatantly and knowingly violated God’s sacred will in spouting such hate and untruth.
Now, I’m bored and have nothing better to do, so I guess I’ll start with the lies and certain over-the-top fanatical opinions. I won’t correct any opinions which I think are wrong but not completely over-the-top nonsense, because I would have to quote the entire blog.
1) “It is one of the vilest programs to ever be broadcast anywhere at any time, so it might be dangerous just to bring attention to it.”
Lie. I firmly believe that the author consciously lied with this statement.
2) “It’s a slice of flesh pervert fest topped off with buckets of blood.”
What kind of sick mind does it take to transform it into that? The Author’s, apparently.
I’ll admit there is some truth to the statement, but the implied perversion is not nearly as vile as the author’s vocabulary choice. There are indeed a number of perverted/potentially inappropriate scenes, but anything serious is completely modest in its presentation and the rest are innocently played out for laughs. The occasional panty-shot is the worst you’ll find here in terms of graphic portrayals of perversion.
Implied perversion is plentiful, however, and is a central theme of the show, which implies, among other things, the dangers of succumbing to that perversion. Basically, it suggests that perverted pleasure is addictive, much like drugs or cigarettes.
As for bloodshed, while there is none whatsoever until the final episode and conclusion, the amount present in that final episode is almost overwhelming. It is certainly not for the weak of heart. I’m assuming anyone reading this doesn’t mind spoilers, so I’m going to explain what that bloodshed is and how it came about.
The bloodshed comes in the form of murder. Two murders in fact. But these murders are far from the senseless horror-movie variety; they are passion driven. To break it down to its core, what happens is…
Boy likes Girl 1. Girl 2 offers to get the two together (no, not sexually. as in a couple), but is in love with Boy herself. Girl 2 successfully unites Boy and Girl 1, but succumbs to lust and does a few inappropriate things with Boy she shouldn’t have under pretenses of helping him, and inadvertently makes Boy fall for her instead. Boy cheats on Girl 1 and gets Girl 2 pregnant, but is then scared to take responsibility and cheats with even more girls as a sort of “escape”, and in doing so becomes addicted to sex.
When news of the pregnancy is made public, most of the girls with whom he had relations refuse to talk with him. He stumbles across Girl 1, realizes the terrible things that he’s done to her, sincerely apologizes and the two get back together. However, he still refuses to take responsibility for his and Girl 2’s child and even goes to far as to suggest an abortion. This drives Girl 2 to murder Boy with a knife, and this murder in turn drives Girl 1 to murder Girl 2.
Definitely not a story for children, but not senseless violence and perversion either.
3) “It just might steal your soul”
…What? No comment.
4) “School Days is just about the sickest thing ever dreamed up.”
I won’t disagree with that statement, but I would like to slap the author back into reality mode here. Things like this, however disgusting they are, actually happen. War is disgusting as well, but we uphold the traditional belief that it is honorable to fight, kill and die for your country and family. I disagree; I don’t believe there is any honor in that, but I am willing to admit that it is a necessary evil in order to maintain the balance and stability of society.
5) “…the misguided and G-dless people of Japan apparently believe that if you take a secret peepshow photo of someone and nobody discovers your crime for three weeks you can have your way with that person.”
This was a disgusting statement and you should be ashamed. I can’t believe I’m living as a human being with equal worth as someone like you. Please go to hell.
That said, if I understand correctly, this was a fictional school rumor of a charm; if you take a picture of your unrequited love with your cellphone, set it as your wallpaper for three weeks and nobody finds out about it, you and your special person would end up together. You seem to have jumped to the conclusion that this had something to do with sex. Tsk tsk, dirty mind.
6) Paragraph 6
The entire paragraph is nothing but lies.
7) “She wants him too. And not just to hold his hand.” “She plants him a kiss right on the mouth, just like those dirty French people.”
Again, you’re a disgusting, narrow minded, racist individual and it’s people like you that make everyone hate us Americans.
Is kissing a sin now? “Dear lord, those youths are doing more than holding hands! The terror! The terror! Has our lord forsaken us!?”
Grow up. These things are a part of life and are perfectly acceptable both in our society and in theirs. You can cling on to your conservative ideals all you want; I have nothing against them, but when you condemn others for not abiding by your personal principles you’ve gone too far.
8) “pornographic and sickening violent garbage”
Pornographic? That’s a lie. There is absolutely no pornographic content in this series. Sickening? Yes but intentionally. It wasn’t meant to be happy and innocent you know, a lot of things aren’t. Violent? There’s only one scene of violence in the entire series with the exception of the occasional slap on the cheek. To label the series as violent because of that is, in my opinion, a lie. Garbage? That’s your opinion and I respect that.
9) “…his harlot friend is able to turn this young man (by raping him) into a disgusting little sociopath who is only interested in sowing his seed into all of the girls in his school.”
The “raping him” and “harlot” parts are lies. The rest is truthful to an extent, but the way you say it is deceitful. I’ve already described the basic plot outline above, so I feel no need to go into further detail.
10) What an awful message to send to children!
As aformentioned, this is NOT for children. Since your attitude thus far has suggested that you know absolutely nothing about traditions outside of the United States, I’ll explain it for you. In our western culture, cartoons and comics are generally targeted towards children and young audiences. Not so in Japan. In Japan watching anime and reading manga is perfectly acceptable for all age groups; basically, anime and manga is to Japan what movies are to us. Over here, for example, children are not allowed to watch rated R movies. It’s the same in Japan; children are not allowed to buy/read rated R manga.
This is simply from what I’ve studied. I have never personally been to Japan so there may be fallacies in my statements.
11) “As shown below, the voyeuristic camera angles reward its jaded viewers with an endless parade of “panty shots.” These are very popular in hedonistic Japan.”
Again you display your ignorance. Doesn’t your God encourage you to learn about others’ traditions and accept them? I guess not.
These “panty shots” are indeed popular in Japanese culture. I don’t know why this is, and personally I find it odd as well, but neither of us have any right to push our own values on a different culture or to condemn them for it.
Furthermore, these “panty shots” are, as I recall, few and far between in this particular series when compared to others.
12) “His best whore friend, well the girl who pretends to be his best friend, becomes his love buddy, pretending to help him learn more about girls and how to have sex with them herself gets all lusty about Makoto and lets herself get impregnated by him.”
A whore is someone who provides sexual services in exchange for money but it is generally used to describe a woman who has sex with men indiscriminately or has sex with multiple men. Seeing as the so-called “whore” only made love to the male lead, the term is inapplicable.
Also, the two did not have sex until much later, after the male lead made it clear to her he was interested in nobody but her. There was no sex or impregnation involved in the situation you’re talking about.
13) “…the object of Makoto’s desire, Katsura, turns out to be as crazy as Shrillary Clinton. She starts out all coy and shy and then, for no reason at all gets all slutty and nasty.”
For no reason? Were you really paying any attention at all or were you busy fantasizing about exactly how you wanted to make a fool out of yourself via blogging next? Or maybe you do know the reason and decided to lie yet again for dramatic affect. I’m sure God is proud.
14) “…disgusted by the slut his former friend turned out to be decides he prefers the girl who’s not knocked up after all.”
By slut do you mean love-struck young lady who wants to raise her child happily with the father?
As I stated in my overview of the plot earlier, he chose run from Girl 2 (Sekai) because he was afraid to take responsibility for the child, and got back together with Girl 1 (Katsura) because he realized he had hurt her badly.
15) “It’s bloodlust animated in full for the thrills of its depraved audience. A catchy tune plays in the background, assuring viewers that murder is okay, cool even.”
Thrills? Assuring that murder is okay? You’re insane. The impact the scene had on you was the impact it had on everyone; it’s not supposed to be “cool” or a “thrill”, it’s supposed to make you sick to your stomach. Are you so self-absorbed that you can’t even realize that?
Also, let me provide you with a link to a version of that so-called “catchy tune” that plays during that so-called “thrilling” sequence that has been translated into English by fans of the series:
16) “No lesson, no pathos, nothing but sex and violence…”
At this point I’m at a loss for words. Are you the stupidest human being alive? Are you just so self-absorbed that your world is distorted? Do you just enjoy lying and being hated? I have no idea how your twisted mind works, and I don’t want to know. I believe I’ve already expressed the fact that you sicken me more than this anime did.
17) “Once married, a man can treat a young woman however he likes.”
So once a woman marries she looses her will? Or am I misunderstanding that sentence. After all that “idealism” you just spewed I sure hope you’re not suggesting that.
As I’ve said, that’s your personal view and I can respect that, but the way you say it suggests that it is a truth, which it’s not.
18) “Desire that should rightfully be confined within the holy bonds of matrimony. Any extra curricular activity should be viewed as sick and wrong.”
Again, personal opinion. Or in this case, the opinion of the Catholic society. Believe it or not, youths all over the world are drifting away from religion in this new age and focusing more on worldly accomplishments and desires.
As a natural result there is premarital and underage sex happening all over the world. It’s even rampant here in the United States. This is a well known fact. (What we need to dull the negative impact of this development now is probably proper sex education so that these children know what they’re getting themselves into and how to protect themselves from it)
And FYI, all this has been happening since long before this series was aired. If you could see the events of this anime in contrast with the events of real life the one you’d be spouting your ignorance at would be life; worse things than the events that occur in this series happen in real life every day.
Well that was a nice time-killer, anyway. I hope that, in the future, you properly research your target, state facts and not dramatized lies, and make it clear when you’re stating your opinion that you don’t believe it’s the one and only truth and perspective to take. I hope that, rather than jumping to the conclusion that a person is at fault, you give them the benefit of the doubt and really try to comprehend their meaning before making a rash decision.
Since you’re obviously a very religious person, I also urge you to rethink the intentions of whichever God you worship, because it seems clear to me from what you’ve said that you’ve strayed from his path somewhere along the line and you’ve got some work to do to get back on it. That is, unless your God supports racism, lies and judgmental attitudes, which I doubt.

In fact, i have read several AMERICAN cases in which even WORSE things happened, such as a woman decapitating a man for leaving her for another, then she even killed the other girl and then shot herself. you dare call Japan violent! They aren’t even close to the puerile level of intelligence you have. Anime is one of the most beautiful things i have seen. The design of the eyes and how it represents how you can see just who the person is by looking them in the eyes and seeing their souls is amazing. Here is a suggestion. before judging ALL ANIMES and ALL OF JAPAN, please do yourself a favor and watch the beautiful anime called CLANNAD and then you tell me just how “insane” and “sick” animes and Japan is.

You don’t hear on the news about the murder saying I got it off an anime, NO! it’s like this for video games too! Your a sick person. Don’t you know that there is other anime out there? This, is porn. It’s hentai. If you don’t want to watch it, then don’t! Anime doesn’t have to be banned. Sure, some are nasty. But if you’ve ever watched Mew Mew Power (aka Toyko Mew Mew), or heck, even pokemon, you’d realize how silly you sound. Yes, pokemon is anime. It comes from japan. You can’t just say a whole country is sick and twisted from one show. Japan isn’t the only place they have/make this stuff you know!
One of my favorite animes, Spice and Wolf, may be called bad by anyone. This reason is because one of the main characters is a wolf goddess. It shows her naked a lot. But she’s not a slut, it’s a very good anime/manga which is watched/read for it’s story line. You just went to the wrong site!
Seriously. You shouldn’t judge a country so harshly on it’s perverted population. They have a great educational system there, and it’s beautiful.
Quite watching porn and write a real review, of a good anime like Vampire Knight. Or fruits Basket! Now that is a great anime.

I do love Jesus Christ, I do sin because Im a human being but this guy has been a bit too far already as I have kind of noticed everyone’s being harsh to him. We might not know his real motive but at least he had fought for it and expressed himself very well. That’s one of the bravest thing a blogger could do. In my personal view, I am on his side for I can relate to him. on the contrary, Anime is part of my life so I am offended by the things he has uttered mostly on the part where he easily could campare the works of the japanese, he would have not watch school days, right?…. Call me crazy, I’m 12, and I watched the whole thing in two days. I have to say, it’s the WORST most SICKENING anime ever. And call me even CRAZIER. I watched the end FIRST. It was even more disgusting after watching the whole thing then just watching the end. This anime really did suck balls. It’s sickening and disgusting and cruel and down right HORRIBLE. Let’s stick to the normal school romance, not involving any sex or killing or disgusting-ness what so ever. I still can’t believe that me, as a 12 year old, and my friend, also 12, wathced this HORRIBLE, SICKENING, DISGUSTING anime ever invented.

Yes, there are some perverted anime out there, but School Days is NOT that bad… Why don’t you attack an ecchi anime like Dance in the Vampire Bund, which has many awkward scenes? Or look up something TRULY perverted, like the game Ayumarine 707 (a very nasty loli gang-rape game/visual novel based on Submarine 707 Revolution, a pretty good and un-perverted movie). Or even better, look up “Anime” in Encyclopedia Dramatica or go to 4chan/h/ or (God help us), 4chan/b/! So stop picking on an anime that even SAYS that it’s for adults only! I’d understand if it were disguised as a child’s show but was actually this. Just because it’s animated doesn’t mean it’ll be a kid’s show…

First of all japan isn’t godless they belive in multiple gods.
Second not all anime is made for kids. Just like how spoungebob is for kids and familyguy isn’t.
Third, there is a theme to schooldays if you played the VA you would know that. Its basically tells you that its not right to use people and you’ll regret it later if you do.
Forth, If you want to be sexist and raisest that’s your problem just PLEASE keep it off the internet. And not all women that have sex before their married are like that. Stereotypes are pathetic and don’t need to be worshiped. And its not evil just because its not all like, ″follow god and beat your wives″.

Okay, I’m just gonna say whoever posted that anime is bad based off of ONE FREAKING ANIME is dumb. I would try some more anime before posting about something like this.

Anime like that aren’t very popular.
There are millions of anime and manga fans throughout the world, most being of my generation. Apparently anime seems interesting to young people. Now, the writer of this blog will be like,”Wooowwww explains why women in high school are getting pregnant!” WRONGGGG. Go watch Trigun, Naruto, Elfen Lied, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Death Note, Eden of the East, Eureka 7, Eureka 7 AO… so much more I could list but I’m not going to. School Days is a unique anime, there is no other like it, I’ve never seen/read about such a stupid and perverted anime. I don’t watch anime with boobs or something like that, those don’t interest me. The type of anime that interests me is shounen. I like romance anime to have a bit of action in it, but the only romance anime/manga I’ve watched/read has never had anything bad in it except Eden of the East but that anime/manga is still pretty good, there’s nothing perverted in there o-o Trust me. Doesn’t show anything.
Now I can’t tell my parents that I watch anime cuz of this, and they don’t understand the world and how you watch certain anime and read certain manga that’s /clean/ and not dirty like School Days. I would /never/ watch School Days.
So if one day my anime and manga were successful, would you not watch/read it just because of this anime?
It hurts because I’ve got a plan for a manga in the future, it hurts me as an anime/manga artist. It really does hurt. It would hurt other people like Masashi Kishimoto, too, which is currently making the ongoing series Naruto Shippuuden, one of the most popular anime and manga in the world. He’s put so much time in the manga and anime, and so has his team of like, 15 people to help him make the anime so you get one episode per week.
For one single person, it could take 7 months to make a 25 minute animation. I know this because there’s a really short anime but I forgot what it was called >.< But really.
Have more respect for us manga artists. If we're successful one day, you definitely won't watch our anime. You really just insulted us by saying all anime and manga is bad. Some of us already have our own manga, and a few, just a few, their own anime. There's one really good doujinshi based off of Naruto & Naruto Shippuuden called Konoha High School and it's really popular. There's only two episodes. The manga is finished though. The anime is incomplete. The anime/manga isn't even licensed so it can't be aired on TV or whatever.
I don't want people like you to watch or read the anime/manga I've been trying to start for the past year, getting the characters ready and developing my skills and attempting fighting scenes and scenes of people running.

This is ridiculous, this thing is clearly rated Teen+17. Do you even know what you are talking about? Obviously you don’t; there are many anime shows out there that is suitable for kids. A good example wold be Pokemon, and guess what, it’s an anime. That’s been showing for years and there has never been any complaints, so you should really research these things.

Is School Days and Higarushi no naku kori ni the only Anime you’ve watched? I hated it myself. It was stupid. Made no sense. Absolutely disgusting. But just because you watch R-RATED Anime series doesn’t mean you can easily say Anime itself should be banned. What about all the other R rated and horrendous movies they have today? Seriously. And if you must, watch something PG-13 or something M-17, like Black Lagoon or Darker than Black, or maybe Code Geass or Death Note. Something less DISGUSTING and SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY IS WORTH WATCHING.
