Moving To the Left

No Left TurnWhen I was driving my SUV the other day, I noticed something rather odd.  When I let go of the steering wheel, my vehicle began veering to the right.  “That’s annoying,” I thought.  “This could kill me if I’m not careful.  I better get this fixed.”

Then it dawned on me.  If I were to fall asleep at the wheel, the worst that would happen is that I’d end up in the ditch or on the shoulder.  If my car, like Barack Osama, steered hard to the left, I’d end up in the oncoming traffic lane and probably die, horribly, mangled by his leftist socialist policies and left open to attack by the terrorists who want to kill us.

I’m an American.  My SUV is America.  Who do you want behind the wheel?  Barack Hussein Osama or Rudy Ghouliani, who’d surely drive us leftward into oncoming traffic?  Or perhaps someone like Mike Huckabee or Duncan Hunter who would drive conservatively, observe the traffic laws and get us home safely?

I think I know the answer to that.  So do you.  Vote smart in 2008.  Vote right.

  1. To continue your metaphor:

If your SUV continues to veer right, it would swerve off the road, over a ditch, fell a tree or two and come to a halt in a lake.

The drivers in the other cars mock you because you fell asleep at the wheel. A Chinese tank, heading in the opposite direction will then pull you out of the mess you’ve gotten yourself into.

You’re not even trying to porve a political point now, you’re just connecting two things that have nothing to do with each other.

  3. If you drive an SUV into a ditch, there’s a high chance you’ll flip over. Once it’s flipped over, it’s unlikely that the roof will be able to support the weight of a vehicle as heavy as an SUV. Thus, it will collapse, crushing the driver and potential passengers, possibly killing them. Everyone involved dies.

If you drive an SUV into the left lane (assuming the street in the metaphor has only one lane for each direction), the oncoming traffic will obviously try to brake and honk their horn. Hopefully, this will wake the driver up and allow him or her to redirect themselves into their proper lane before crashing. in the event of a crash, due to the designs of most modern cars, the crumple zones in the front will absorb the majority of the impact, resulting in (hopefully) minimal damage to the people within the car. airbags will inflate, and maybe save some lives. Yes, it’s possible that all involved will die, but just as likely as when you flip over in a ditch and the car falls on you.

Also, once you’re in a ditch, it’s almost impossible to get out of it on your own. You need assistance from another vehicle to pull your stupid ass out. Getting out of the left lane is as easy as switching to the right lane.

Seems to me like your metaphor would describe how the Conservatives have made a huge mess of the country, flipping our economical surplus into a severe deficit, just like the metaphorical flipped over SUV. Our political system has crashed thanks to them, crushing the American people inside.

Continuing this metaphor, Leftists may take risks (easing into the other lane), but once they realize they are in danger, they can easily fix the problem with little lasting damage.

    Got any other “revelations”?

  6. People that sit on the left hand of God the Father Almighty are damned. I am doing an investigation on whether southpaws are satanic or not. It is no coincidence that the majority of traffic accidents occur when someone is trying to make a left turn at an intersection. It is no coincidence that Dennis Kucinich is often seated the farthest left during debates (or Mike Gravel, depending on how you look at it). It is no coincidence that Ron Paul, Rudy Ghouliani, or Arby’s Mitt (note: a corporation that donates major $$$ to the Democrats!) are often stationed the farthest left. One way we could stop a leftward shift in politics is to ban all left hand turns (cars, pedestrians, art, whatever), with the penalty being execution. We must force upon the American people the correct idea that “Right is Right, Left is Moonbatty”, and obligate the usage of rightness rather than leftness in every aspect of our lives. This is the way Huckabee and Brownback would want it. This is the future of America.

I think annihilating about every single car accident will save many lives and property. Left hand turners are often greedy, you know. They think that they can dodge traffic coming from three seperate directions (assuming a 4-way intersection). The only people I know that are greedier than left hand turners are mailmen. 19. OK, EB. Mailmen are, first of all, employed by the federal government. The day you can trust the feds is the day Satan will go to heaven.

Secondly, mailmen drive very, very slowly. They want the road, and you know it.

Third, and most importantly, they are exposed to many, many valuables. Some mailmen are bolder than others, and will steal them right from the mailbag. Others, not wanting to get booted off of their welfare check, will be inspired to rob stores in order to steal the valuables that were just within reach.

Finally, mailmen think they have a right to intrude on our property. They have no such rights.

I assumed that secular-humanist Marxist Yogaites would eventually see their error. But, I guess not:

    – Jim Jones is not a preacher; he did not profess a branch of Christianity accepted by anyone (think Christian Identity); he, not Christ, was the supreme being of his church; people had to go to his specific church… or else!

    – There is evidence on Timothy McVeigh being a mailman. Considering the usage of anthrax in the 90s and at the turn of the century, I wouldn’t be surprised. But Charlie Manson, the Taliban, and the Dixie Chicks have all been mailmen at least at some point. All of these people are repulsive.

  40. -” Jim Jones is not a preacher; he did not profess a branch of Christianity accepted by anyone (think Christian Identity); he, not Christ, was the supreme being of his church; people had to go to his specific church… or else!”

    from his official biography:

“Jones was born in Crete, Indiana to Lynetta Putnam and James Thurman Jones.[1] He graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond, Indiana and became a preacher in the 1950s. He obtained a bachelors degree at Butler University in 1961, and after graduate school at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, Jones sold pet monkeys door-to-door to raise the money to fund his own church[2] that would be named Wings of Deliverance. He later renamed his church the Peoples Temple, which was located in Indianapolis. He became an ordained minister in 1964 in the mainstream Christian denomination, Disciples of Christ.”

    Yep, he was a preacher.

    Timothy McVeigh:

    From his biography:
“his only known affiliations were with the Republican Party when he lived in New York and a membership in the National Rifle Association while in the military.[2]” “In May 1988, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.[5]” “and was discharged on December 31, 1991.[6]” After leaving the Army, beginning in 1992, McVeigh’s lifestyle grew increasingly transient. At first, he worked briefly near his native Pendleton, as a security guard (Hoffman). He also drove to Waco, Texas during the Waco Siege and sold bumper stickers. McVeigh spent time on the gun show circuit, moving from show to show, selling copies of The Turner Diaries and a flare gun that he said could shoot down an “ATF helicopter.”[7][8] Said one author, “In the gun show culture, McVeigh found a home. Though he remained skeptical of some of the most extreme ideas being bandied around, he liked talking to people there about the United Nations, the federal government, and possible threats to American liberty.”[9]

A few months before the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, he returned to Junction City, Kansas, outside Fort Riley.”

But he was never a mailman or in any way connected to the postal service. Go ahead and try to find evidence to the contrary, there isn’t any, unless you knew him personally and know something no one else does.

    Charles Manson:

This one is too far fetched to think about. Charlie Manson was a criminal and nothing else, he never had regular employment anywhere (IRS records can prove that) from the time he was 13 years old he was always in custody, hiding to avoid custody, or fleeing from one state to another to avoid prosecution. His only attempt at earning a living without stealing (robbing grocery stores, gas stations, and stealing cars was his main support) was whe he tried to earn a living pimping out a 16 year old girl while living with another girl whose rich parents supported them both. Even his “family” of followers kept their community going through criminal activities such as robbery, and drug dealing.

But he was never a mailman. And once again, feel free to try and find anything that says otherwise.

The remarks about the Taliban and the Dixie Chicks were just stupid remarks you made because you wanted to make stupid remarks, care to try and prove otherwise, go ahead and look for any evidence that the Taliban and Dixie Chicks were postal workers,, good luck with that.

You were wrong on all counts Bobby, now I challenge you to show otherwise.

    Comment by Arn — January 11, 2008 @ 3:51 pm | Reply

  41. “Yep, he was a preacher.”

A cult preacher accepted by no other denominaton.

The Taliban snuck some anthrax through to some mailboxes, but did the U.S. POstal Service do anything to stop it? No!

The Dixie Chicks will probably hijack the Postal Service for advertising, considering the USPS’s already socialist leanings.

Charles Manson blew people up through the mail, and the US Postal Serbive did nothing to stop it. He had SOME connection to the USPS, like it or not.

All in all, the USPS discoudages free enterprise and jeopardizes private property. If you like them, fine, but don’t force it on all Americans.

  42. “He became an ordained minister in 1964 in the mainstream Christian denomination, Disciples of Christ.”

Do you know what “Mainstream Christian denomination” means? It means what is says, look the religion up yourself. And he was a preacher well before he started his “cult”. He was a preacher in the 50s and started his temple in the mid 60s.

Manson didn’t blow up anyone, through the mail or otherwise, please show evidence of this. (you can’t because it’s not true, but go ahead and try anyway) I lived in California during that time period and followed the case closely as most people in the area did then.

No one ever proved it was the Taliban that sent the Anthrax. Here is an excerpt from the government report on the anthrax attacks: ” FBI Special Agent in charge of the investigation Hector Pesquera stated that there had been no evidence found so far suggesting that the strain of anthrax found in the AMI building had been produced by or was in any way related to the terrorist groups responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.”
Whether the Taliban was involved or not, there is no sensible way to think that the post office was involved. If I sent you a letter with anthrax in it, it would get to you too, unless they had prior knowledge (which they didn’t) they are not expected to open and inspect every piece of mail, it is merely there job to deliver it. If the recipients are potential targets, it is there responsibility to take precautions, the postal service delivers to every person in the country, and many other countries as well, they can’t possibly control the content of that much mail.

“The Dixie Chicks will probably hijack the Postal Service for advertising,”

do you have to get totally stupid in every comment, or is it just something that you think makes you look cute?

So you are still wrong on all counts. Before you start your senseless blather on how you are right again, get something to back your remarks, because your not doing any good here on your own, as usual, just one link, or one source that can support your statements, or admit you’re wrong, because you are.
