Tancredo’s Tanc Runs on Hot Air?

The TancWell this comes from Max Blumenthal, so I’m not sure if it’s for real, but if true, it’s pretty darn shocking. But before we get to the bombshell, how about a little background?

Congressman Tom Tancredo from Colorado is largely responsible for bringing “illegal immigration” to the forefront. It’s long been candidate Tancredo’s signature issue. In the recent CNN/YouTube debate, The Tanc, as his admirers call him, bragged that the other candidates were trying to out-Tancredo Tancredo, since they too were talking tough about those evil wetbacks. Considering that he had the least amount of time to speak in the debate, his bragging was a little out of place. Stick a fork in Tom, because he’s done. Actually, he’s over done.

In the climate created by Tancredo, G-d’s own candidate Sam Brownback was widely mocked as “Senator Switchback” for voting in favor of the comprehensive immigration bill supported by President Bush and then changing his yea vote to nay. It was Sam’s clever way of making the nuanced statement that, yes, we do need immigration reform, but not the incarnation that was being voted on that day. And it was obvious to anyone who was paying attention that the bill would have failed anyway.

But the reality didn’t matter. The braindead knuckle-dragging slogan chanters, unable to understand Sam’s symbolic move, idiotically screamed “Shamnesty, Shamnesty” and the damage was done. The only true principled, conservative Republican running for President was savagely stabbed in the back by those within his own party. Eventually Senator Brownback was forced to concede defeat, nobly, and drop out of the race. It had all the makings of a Shakespearean tragedy.

Fast forward to the present and dial H for hypocrisy. It turns out the man who yelled the loudest for closing the borders, rejecting all future immigration, and in favor of the massive deportation of millions of undocumented workers…wait for it…employed dirty, smelly, dangerous, American job stealing illegals himself! Can you taste the hypocrisy? I can. I’m literally choking on it.

When Republican Representative Tom Tancredo isn’t railing against the “scourge” of illegal immigration on the presidential campaign trail, he relaxes in the 1053 square foot basement recreation room of his Littleton, Colorado McMansion.

Well he’s certainly earned that right. To those who are successful in life go the spoils. Good for you, Tom! More power to ya! It’s the American dream. I love it!

When Tancredo hired a construction crew to transform his drab basement into a high-tech pleasure den in October 2001, however, he did not express concern that only two of its members spoke English.

Well, heck. We haven’t actually passed that law that makes America an English speaking only country, so that’s no big deal.

Nor did he bother to check the workers’ documentation to see if they were legal residents of the United States.

Uh, what was that? I didn’t hear that right.

Nor did he bother to check the workers’ documentation to see if they were legal residents of the United States.

Oh, ouch. Good golly. Wow. Well maybe he just forgot. Besides not every laborer who speaks Spanish and does work for really cheap under the table is an illegal. Gosh, it would be racist to even think to ask, wouldn’t it? You’re golden, Tom. You go, man.

Had Tancredo done so, he would have learned that most of the crew consisted of undocumented immigrants, or “criminal aliens” as he likes to call them.

Well darn, that sure is shiny and sparkly. Is that irony I see? I’m not too sure. So anyway, Tanc, I’m sure you have a good explanation for this. Let’s clear this all up. Give it your best shot, pal.

“I haven’t the foggiest idea how many people I may have hired in the past as taxi drivers, as waiters, waitresses, home improvement people,” he boomed from the House floor. “I haven’t the foggiest idea how many of those people may have been here illegally, and it is not my job to ask them.” Then defiance gave way to vitriol as the congressman dubbed undocumented immigrants, “the face of murder.”

Wow, that’s a heaping helping of flopsweat, dontcha think? And the fog you speak of is getting awful thick. Bye bye, Tom. You’re on your own. In fact, get the heck out of my sight, you filthy hypocrite. Resign from Congress. Maybe it’s time to spend more time with your family in your luxurious mansion with all your filthy money. You’ve earned it. Now, just go away. You reek. Bad. Disgusting.

  1. What kind of disclaimer is that at the beginning? Here, take a look at just some of the misleading statements in the article.

  2. Rather than worry about who’s getting amnesty, what we really need to do is just build the fence, privatize social security, and shut up. As long as illegals are getting what they deserve rather than the same as citizens, I really don’t care. Would the Tanc seriously consider deporting 12 million people while wasting MY tax dollars? Only infrastructure, citizen defense, the War on Terror and Idiotic Islamists, and Christianity deserve any attention in government. Anything more is just asking for the welfare system to begin dominating our lives. English should be our official language, but if businesses want to go above and beyond to publish papers in Spanish, I could care less.

bob, don’t change the subject; we’re not discussing immigration, we’re discussing Tancredo’s hypocrisy.

  4. Over done? Tancredo hasn’t really started yet! Americans are just now beginning to pay attention to campaign 2008 and his message will resonate when conservatives learn it. Get a life and quit short changing the American voter. You are disgracing your own intelligence, not ours.

  5. If it weren’t for Tom Tancredo illegal immigration would be a non-issue.

Whoever thinks that there will not be a big impact on the U.S.A. is fooling themselves.

Immigrants OK….. Illegal Immigrants need to go home.

They are bleeding this country dry. They send home billions of dollars to their home countries and contribute if not drain our country.

Anyone that thinks differently is brain dead.

  6. I do not know how you figure the Tanc is hypocritical. I have only heard snipits that he hired a contractor who had illegals working for him. Rudy Giuliani tried the same thing on former governor Romney Wednesday and only looked like a spoiled brat.

Tom got in this campaign because no other candidate was talking about border security and illegal immigration, even though 70+% of the American people say it is their number one issue. No other candidate talked about it except in an offhand manner until after grassroots America shut down Capitol Hill the end of June. Now all of them want to talk about it because the majority of American voters want it resolved. Tanc is the only one I trust to follow through.

  7. a little something for everyone to ponder, here is a poem by an unknown author, (Don’t worry it is in open domain and is ok to copy, in fact the originator of it would prefer that it be copied and passed around)

    [deleted]

It is interesting that the federal government provides a
single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1, 890.00 and each can also get
an additional $580.00 in social assistance for a total of $2,470.00.

This compares very well to a single pensioner who after
contributing to the growth and development of America for 40 to 50 years can
only receive a monthly maximum of $1, 012.00 in old age pension and
    Guaranteed Income Supplement.

Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!

    or
maybe we can get the refugees cut back to $1, 012.00 and the pensioners
up to $2,470 00 and enjoy some of the money we were forced to submit to the
Government over the last 40 or 50 years.

This is what the politicians have been doing over the past 11 years – to the overtaxed American

[Ed Note: We don’t want chain letters or email forwarding junk pasted here in our comment threads. If it’s really important, post it on your own myspace blog and link to it. Thanks. Say it in your own words or don’t say it at all.]

Every statement in this response except for closing the borders is comedically ludicris.

Privatizing social security will bankrupt this country faster than anything else. It’s basically inviting the socio-corporate-political world and they’re lovely lobbyists who are already million or billionaires to add to their own bank accounts at the expense of the middle class (a disappearing species thanks to religious fanatic Republicans/Democrats) who work hard to earn an honest living their whole lives just to snatch it away from them after retirement.

    The ignorance here astonishes me.

Tancredo is just another Bush/Cheney yes man wearing brown(back) lipstick. The dollar is weaker than ever, the Iraq war is a blundering failure, NAFTA/CAFTA/WTO are killing America’s labor force, Bin Laden is still alive, the borders are still open, less than 5% of imports go unchecked, 9/11 happened (the biggest failure in the history of American presidencies), the divisiveness has never been worse and our world allies now hate us and these are only the tip of the iceberg of failures (Katrina, bridge collapse, pork spending, lower wages).

The KKKorkkker, Sixsixsixyphus, Psykkkeout, BJ Hellbound philosophy is nothing more than theocratic-fascist-kkkoolade drinking-outerfringe right wing extremism. 5 years from now they’ll be saying how much they wished they supported Ron Paul instead of any of the rest of the Repukelican candidates.

  14. Master Mahan: Brownback withdrew a couple months ago. He is no longer in the campaign. Congressman Tancredo is far from being a johnny-commie-lately. He has fought for secure borders and illegal immigration control since entering congress in 1999. He is opposed to the UN, NAFTA, CAFTA, SPP and WTO.

He has said many times that trade deals are threatening our Sovereignty and promised a gathering in Des Moines Iowa this summer “If I am elected President I will kill the North American Union in it’s infancy.”

Spacebrother: You are totally uninformed and out of touch. Tancredo is definitely not a Bush/Cheney yes man. He locked horns so many times with Dubya on border security, illegal immigration, trade and education that Karl Rove banned him from the White House. The issues you spoke of are certainly true except it is the CFR, Trilateral commission and Bilderberg group who are influencing those issues. All of the top tier Republican candidates (and all of the Democrats except Dennis Kucinich) are associated with those organizations. Tom Tancredo (Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter) is not. The goal of those organizations is to form a North American Union by the year 2010. Tom is the only candidate I trust to turn our Republic away from that and the eventual One World Order. I believe you misspoke in saying “less than 5% of imports go unchecked”.

  15. Thanks for the translation EB!!! Thats really cool. I noticed once again how none of these people have a response to my points knowing that I’m correct. The usual response is, saying how much I hate America which is opposite of the truth. I have astrong dislike towards failure and the current batch of Republicans (with one exception who I’ve mentioned many times.) will keep us on than road to doom. I’m not keen on the Dems either with 2 exceptions, Kucinich and Gravel.

All very good things, mind you. Tancredo’s foreign policy (shoot first, ask questions later) is tied with Hunter for best. Unlike Hunter, Tancredo seems clueless on this issue. Brownback’s only flaw seems to be his love relation with NAFTA.

“He has said many times that trade deals are threatening our Sovereignty and promised a gathering in Des Moines Iowa this summer “If I am elected President I will kill the North American Union in it’s infancy.””

So he CAN argue about stuff other than illegals.

“Spacebrother: You are totally uninformed and out of touch.”

I think we can be good friends😀

“Tancredo is definitely not a Bush/Cheney yes man. He locked horns so many times with Dubya on border security, illegal immigration, trade and education that Karl Rove banned him from the White House.”

Tancredo was right on all of these issues. Bush often expands taxes on idiotic bureaucracies, like ‘NCLB’. Can’t we just get rid of public schools all together?

“The issues you spoke of are certainly true except it is the CFR, Trilateral commission and Bilderberg group who are influencing those issues.”

Don’t become too much of a conspiracy nut. It’s mostly that vermin Rudy and his superhighway that worry me.

“All of the top tier Republican candidates (and all of the Democrats except Dennis Kucinich) are associated with those organizations. Tom Tancredo (Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter) is not.”

Ron Paul’s an idiot, though. I used to be a member of the John Birch Society, but they label EVERYONE a communist. The only commies in our government right now are Kookspinach and Pete Stark, both very scary people. The real reason I left was because they don’t support the war, which actually chips away at the UN’s foundations. I’d suggest looking in to Hunter over Tancredo, because Hunter not only knows more, but he’s also got a clean record. The homeschool movement supports Hunter. Tancredo’s abortion record is suspicious, and he seems like a racist.

“The goal of those organizations is to form a North American Union by the year 2010.”

Depends on if the UN allows it. The ultimate goal is a one-world government. As Americans, we need to set our own foreign policy stances while completely ignoring everyone else’s opinion, and set it so that the middle class is the primary benefiters. The upper class should take their decreased regulations and lower taxes and shut up when it comes to foreign policy.

“Tom is the only candidate I trust to turn our Republic away from that and the eventual One World Order. I believe you misspoke in saying “less than 5% of imports go unchecked”.”

Amen to that! No more anime or anything else!

  25. I see most of the pols running for POTUS now as empty suits. Tancredo and his one-note band is not nearly as important an issue as most of you think. But since the authoritarian mind can only consider one side of an issue, I can see why you would be upset.

Most illegal immigrants are only here because our economy needs them. And calling them immigrants is a misnomer, most of them are not moving here permanently. Because NAFTA has drastically lowered wages in Mexico, they NEED to come north to support their families.

Illegal immigration could be largely solved if INS or ICE enforced laws already on the books. Everything else is just this election cycles republican wedge issue (see gay marriage in 2004).
