Jack-o-Bauer-nternYes, the Devil’s day is upon us again. It’s hard to believe that children are encouraged by their fallen parents to dress up as pagans and demons to secure tooth-rotting candy for their bicuspids this time of year, but there you go.

I think that better than letting them throw rotten eggs at the door of Mrs. Bates, perhaps you should introduce them to a classic or two. Why not screen The Wizard of Oz?

That certainly is frightening enough for any family to behold. Or perhaps you could introduce them to scary radio shows from long ago at Horror Theatre. It certainly scares the daylights out of me!

  1. Bareback’s out. Time to go for Tancredo!

  2. He’s not out!

“WASHINGTON | Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas said Wednesday that he would drop out of the Republican race for president if he finished lower than fourth in the Iowa caucuses.”

We just have to band together and ensure that ONLY Brownshirt supporters are ALLOWED to the polls and we can make him come first!

We are stickin in the race!

  3. I can’t believe this. Has Jesus really abandoned America to Satan? Happy Clam is right; President Bush MUST make a law banning non-Christians from the polls. That is the only way we can hope to preserve Democracy.

  4. Senator Sam Brownback, Republican of Kansas, reportedly is set to drop out of the race for his party’s presidential nomination.

The Associated Press is reporting that he will make the announcement tomorrow from Topeka.

    (Liberal NY Times).

Oh my fellow manly patriots, what a sad day this is for us all.

  5. Here’s the scariest thing about this season: Sam is quitting the race!!

I guess we just didn’t pray hard enough.

By the way, I found a copy of “Turmoil in the Toybox.” I paid 1 cent for it. I think it was overpriced (and yet, it’s still priceless). This will make a great gag Christmas present.

  6. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

    ANYWHOOO….. back on topic:

Letting your kids watch a movie that features witches & wizards is better than letting them dress up as witches & wizards EXACTLY HOW???

  7. The witches and wizard weren’t real, indyandy. I think it’s pretty obvious.

    Comment by Psycheout — October 18, 2007 @ 11:02 am | Reply

    Take that, bitches! 😉

  9. Yes Indtandy, as Psycheout said all this magic stuff is not real. Do you want your’ kids growing up believing in invisible magical men who can just wish away problems and other nonsense? I know we Christians certainly don’t want out kids that way.

  10. “The witches and wizard weren’t real, indyandy. I think it’s pretty obvious.”

But when some seven-year old in a black cloak & pointy hat shows up at my doorsteep looking for candy, she IS a real witch?

  11. Be sure to stock up on pamphlets from your church for hell-o-ween. The misguided tykes may not be looking for salvation, but you can certainly steer them in the right direction.

  12. Bush doesn’t pass laws… I take it you were home schooled?

  15. Sigh, is it THAT time again?
You know, it´s almost like you could program your clock after the annual fundie anti-halloween-rants.

  16. Hmm, I was going to send my little tyke out as President Bush. I’ll have to second guess that move now.

  17. You’re absolutely right! Because the Eve of All Hallows (read: the night before All Saint’s Day) is demonic and evil!! Can you believe my daughter wanted to go trick-or-treating as (heaven forbid!) an ANGEL?! Heresy!

  18. “Be sure to stock up on pamphlets from your church for hell-o-ween.”

PLEASE stop misspelling it. It’s HALLOWeen. As in, All Hallow’s Eve. You know, the day we celebrate the lives of the saints and pray for the souls of the Christian dead? It’s a sacred holiday. TAKE IT BACK by having your children trick-or-treat as heroes from the Bible!

  19. You’re right, let’s take the “real” witches an burn them at the stake, like good old times!

    Comment by Kyle Rayner — October 22, 2007 @ 12:02 am | Reply

  20. I agree, Kyle. Smulating the fires of Hell so we can burn everyone we don’t like is a perfect example of Christian love! 😀

    Comment by a TRUE Christian — October 23, 2007 @ 7:42 am | Reply

  21. Yep. I never understood all this hatred for magic. Like it really exists. It’s like hating imaginary friends.

    Comment by Kyle Rayner — October 23, 2007 @ 1:34 pm | Reply

  22. Indeed. Just like religious warfare: If other religions are a lie, then why should we bother killing them? It’s like discovering someone believes in the Tooth Fairy, and killing him for it.
