Brief Announcement

Filed under: Breaking News,Drugs,Family,Health Care,Open Thread,Prayers — Sisyphus @ 4:11 pm

Sorry for the prolonged silence.  I had to work my usual 60-hour weekend shift, and then today my wife needed surgery to have her wisdom teeth pulled.  She wouldn’t let me do it the cheap, effective way in the toolshed, because she worried about complications.   So I had to take her to the dentist.  That quack charged us $500, just to pull some teeth that Satan installed in there in the first place.  Also, he pumped her full of crazy drugs.  She’s babbling at me even as I type this.  If my wife becomes a doper because of some treefrog’s opium den-tistry, may God’s Holy Legions smite every tooth-pulling quacking treefrog in America dead- with scabies, so their families have to itch.

I’ll post more tomorrow, but for now I have to help the wife again.  Say no to drugs, even after surgery.  I know when my wisdom teeth have to go, I’m doing it myself.  All I need are a hammer, a chisel, some water, and someone to sing Bible verses at me while I chip away at the Satanism in my body.

Consider this an open thread.  Sorry again for the prolonged absence.

  1. Come on, Sam! Our country needs you!

Yet you let this pseudo-religious half-wit named Huckabee win the post-Value Voters Debate Straw Poll?

I guess the only thing funnier is that Fred Thompson received 4%, while Giuliani and McCain each received 1% yet none of them even bothered to show up for the debate.

I guess the only thing funnier than that is knowing our favorite pseudo-Christian and dog abuser Mitt Romney received 0% (no votes!), even though he actually did show up.

Some heathenous Jewish guy summarized the situation pleasantly:

“How can we expect these no-show candidates to take on Osama Bin Laden and other world leaders when they’re afraid to show up and answer questions from Phyllis Schlafly?” asked Rabbi Aryeh Spero of the Jewish Action Alliance, and Values Voter debate panelist.

Time to kick the campaign into gear, Sam. You should be saying things like that.

  2. 60-hour weekend shift? How does that work? Or did your sky buddy install an extra 12 hours in the South to keep your idle minds occupied?

  3. Adam,

I demand you retract that statement, the man’s family has been assaulted by a secularist snake oil sales man all you do is mock him. I know this kind of cold blooded behavior is typical of atheists but to decent people this quite unacceptable!😡

  5. “…to pull some teeth that Satan installed in there in the first place.”

So, when God created man, he asked Satan make a contribution to the project? Once again, you are going to have to point out the Bible book, chapter & verse for me🙂

  6. I was a little worried there, frankly. Good to know it wasn’t anything too serious.

  7. “the man’s family has been assaulted by a secularist snake oil sales man all you do is mock him.”

What the hell are you talking about? He wasn’t “assaulted” by anybody. He went to the man, asked him to perform a service, and he did. Frankly, I’m appalled that he charged you $500 big ones, considering in Canada they do a better job for free, but hey, you can’t always live in the first-world countries, can you?

As you can see, you guys aren’t in a very good position to be calling anybody stupid.

  8. Women are not only the weaker sex, they are also the miserable sex. I discovered my wife Maud was much happier and more civil when administered regular doses of tincture of opium in tea. For forty-five years until her death it kept her serene and compliant.

Two jobs, one shift after the other, Friday night through Monday morning. Try it sometime, atheist. It’s a quasi-religious experience. I spend the Sabbath portion of it praying under my breath, cursing my employer for not letting me take my religious day of worship off.

“…the first toasters were guesswork, divinely inspired guesswork.”

I stand by that statement. It’s the Truth you moonbats are afraid to face.

  10. The truth eh? Well if this is such a self-edivent truth, then prove it. Also, provide a biblical passage to back up your statement.

And besides, just because you’re too dumb to understand how a toaster works doesn’t mean the rest of the world is as…. “special” as you. LOL!

  15. Spacebrother,

Why do hate freedom? The surge is clearly working and we have turned a corner in Iraq. They say deaths from cholera are starting to pass deaths from terrorist in Iraq so progress is being made. All we need to do is tough it out for ten more years and victory will be ours.

  16. BJ, I don’t think you can last 10 more years. I think a decade-long war would do crippling damage to your nation as a whole. It’s not a matter of principle as much as it is a matter of your nation surviving.

  17. ““…the first toasters were guesswork, divinely inspired guesswork.”

I stand by that statement. It’s the Truth you moonbats are afraid to face.

The first toasters were fire. The second toasters were the result of someone discovering that heat (from the fire) toasted the bread.
The third toasters were the result of someone saying “Hey, metal gets hot when we run electricity through it. We can use that heat to make toast!”

I don’t see where guesswork plays into that.

“They say deaths from cholera are starting to pass deaths from terrorist in Iraq so progress is being made. ”

Cholera… more deaths from Cholera than from terrorists.

By the same logic, there are more deaths from Automobiles than from terrorists in the US annually, so this is an indication that cars are worse than terrorists, right?

Hell, cholera wasn’t a problem before. and if Cholera is killing that many people, then you’d think that the ‘liberators’ of Iraq would be treating this medical calamity, right?

No, that shows the strategy of fighting the terrorist over there in Iraq and not over hear is paying off. You treefrogs keep on thinking we are fighting Nazi Germany or something. No, Al Quida is a serious enemy.

The Iraqis are a free people now. That means they are free to do things like use their drinking water as a sewer without mommy state holding their hands.

    This is called personal responsibility.

Then you should pull your troops out. Either your troops are there to help them where they need help, or they’re not. Which is it?

The reality is the surge IS NOT WORKING. Don’t let the corporate run politicians and MSM fool you. The Pentagons, White House’s and the military’s reports contradict Petraous’ and Bush’s claims of success. The general himself stated that he CANNOT SAY AMERICA IS SAFER. Fullfilling 16 out of 18 benchmarks is not success. Violence is down in Bagdad but way up in other regions.

The “progress rhetoric” is merely a stalling tactic to pass this mess onto the next commander in chief so the current one can claim the failure and lies were’nt his.

By invading Iraq we traded one dictatorship for 3 dictatorships, turned power over to the Shiite’s who are fully supported by Iran, armed Sunni and Shiite militias just so the can use OUR OWN WEAPONS to kill our brave men and women in uniform as well as each other.

A couple things to think about…

Al Qaida had no presence in Iraq prior to the war.

Iraq had NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11.

Bin Laden is still very much alive and laughing at us from Pakistan because our troops were sent to Iraq. Probably the single biggest failure in American history so far (Bush still has 14+ months to screw something else up worse – can anybody say border security?).

The Iraq policy is a miserable failure worse than any other ever made by a president (not taking into account the failure to keep 9/11 from ever happening in the first place despite plenty of advance warning).

    About freedom…….

Bush, Brownback, the majority of the Republican party and even many Democrats have stripped us of many of our own freedoms.

    Examples –

Illegal wiretaps on innocent US citizens.

The elimination of Habeas Corpus from the US constitution.

Stripping away our constitutional right to peacfully assemble (free speech zones created so the failing politicians don’t have to listen to the vast majority of the publics dissatisfaction with failed policies).

    ……and there are dozens more.

A false sense of Freedom is not Freedom.

…So Satan created your wife and her teeth, then? Funny, I thought God created the world and everything in it. Or is this your way of announcing that you are a Manichean?

Also, I too have had to be placed under anesthesia, in order for the doctors to remove a swollen and inflamed appendix. Not only am I repulsed by the idea of drug abuse (an inability to THINK is not my idea of a good time), but without that surgery, I would have died within a few weeks, upon the inevitable rupture of my appendix and the spread of waste products and the associated contagion throughout my body cavity.
