Brownback’s Got Issues, Lots of Them

Filed under: Election 2008,Sam Brownback — Psycheout @ 11:47 am

Sam BrownbackIt’s about time somebody noticed, other than us, that Sam Brownback has issues, issues that America cares about. Every once in a while, when B4B points out the weaknesses of other candidates, some silly person complains that we should be discussing Brownback’s issues and not candidate X. Not that we haven’t done that time and again on this site. Look in the archives. Everything is laid out. It just might be that the critical commenters themselves have issues, and not in a good way.

Washington Post’s blog The Trail took note of Sam Brownback today and it’s all about issues. So dive in!

You can’t charge Sen. Sam Brownback, who’s aggressively courted conservative voters, of dodging the issues.

Absolutely right.

Just look at the Kansan Republican’s campaign site.

That’s good advice. Go!

On immigration: “We must enable all law enforcement to identify and quickly remove all illegal aliens.”

On marriage: “The right to marry is not the right to redefine marriage. Marriage is the union of one man and one woman.”

On abortion: “Abortion ends a human life. It destroys an individual who could have lived and participated in our society. Already, it has eliminated tens of millions of children.”

Clear, simple and to the point. These are things that all good Americans can understand and agree with. No nuance, no loopholes, no wiggle room for flip-flops. But wait, there’s more.

And the list of issues on his site — with a campaign blog, The Daily Brownbacker, that lambasts Mitt Romney with the “Mitt Flop File” — goes on. Israel. Iraq. Energy.

And on and on. The Trail notes that Brownback “stakes a position on 17 issues on his site, more than any other Republican contender.” There would be no surprises with a President Brownback. He certainly is the one principled, conservative Republican who deserves your vote. Of that there can be no doubt.

  1. Dear loyal supporters,

Please allow me to take this opportunity to thank you all for your kind words and support, we here at Team Brownback are confident we will do everything in our collective power to put our agenda forward for 2008, and with God’s help, a place in the White House in January 2009.

In this last month, I have worked hard for my proud state of Kansas, having voted to approve a digital television frequency fix for KFJX-TV Fox 14 in the Pittsburg, Kansas, market. The FCC approved this decision, which is very pleasing, showing, true to form, that we are getting our tasks completed for the good people of Kansas.

As the Ranking Member on the appropriations subcommittee that oversees funding for the FCC, I have worked hard to ensure that residents of Southeast Kansas have access to broadcast television without interfering with first
responders or other emergency communications. The FCC decision will help smooth the transition from analog to digital television frequencies in both rural and urban areas of Kansas.

This month I also voted for Judge Leslie Southwick’s nomination to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Southwick’s nomination will now be considered by the full Senate at a later date.

Judge Southwick’s outstanding record speaks to what a great jurist he will be on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and I was proud to vote to move his nomination forward. I applaud my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee for
    recognizing Judge Southwick’s many qualifications.

  3. “Sam Brownback has issues”… Enough said.

This site is a parody and not the real deal. It’s fun nonetheless.
