The Battle for the Toy Box!

Biblical Action FiguresA solution for the Turmoil in the Toybox can be found at the online store run by Focus on the Family friends one2believe. At last there are some good Christian themed toys for our children.

What could be more fun than weilding Samson the Spirit Warrior, re-enacting Daniel in the Lion’s Den or spending hours of bliss with the Nativity play set? And girls will make a joyful noise when they get Esther Messenger of Faith. Move over Chinese made bimbo Barbie. Esther has a message and it’s not about free love and free willy.

We are one2believe, designers of Bible-based toys for young children, called Tales of Glory. Beginning this August our Tales of Glory toys will become available at select Wal-Mart stores and other retailers across the country.

This program represents a huge opportunity for the faith community as it is the first time a worldwide retailer has opened-up shelf-space for a strong Bible-based toy product, like Tales of Glory! However, this is only a test-run. In fact, Wal-Mart will only have Tales of Glory in about 425 stores and only for a limited time (August through January). They have temporarily made the product available, and are waiting to see the response from their consumers. The success of this program is up to us… we need to take advantage of this amazing opportunity!

Battle for the Toy BoxThis is a chance to let our voices be heard. By supporting this program we can send a message to other retailers and toy makers letting them know that we, as a Christian community, are truly concerned about the toys that our children play with! We are aware of the influence that toys have on our young children’s impressionable minds, so we would like to see more God-honoring options available. It’s a “Battle for the Toy Box”!

These Tales of Glory toys and more will go on sale tomorrow at your local American Wal-Mart store.

See also the Messengers of Faith website for talking Jesus, Mary, Joseph and David dolls.  And may G-d bless you and your family!

Great gifts for older folks can be found in the official Blogs 4 Brownback Store.

  2. Awesome. Jesus dolls. And their white too! Kewl.

I’m holding out for the King David Pocket Rocket, for the spiritual Golliaths in all our childrens lives. Wonder how the teachers are gonna react?

  3. I think when I was child I would have loved those Samson and Goliath action figures. It takes me back to my childhood day dreaming about out those Biblical battles were Samson wrestles down strong and sweaty Philistine men and makes them bow to The Lord. I think I will get those as gifts for my cousins next Christmas.

  4. Esther: there’s a Queen for you, Psycheout. Intelligent, resourceful, crafty, and awesomely beautiful. With the whole government power structure against her, she alone saved her people. Hopefully girls can learn from her to be self-sufficient and to stand their ground.

  5. Dear Psycheout,

I am just thrilled that this line will be out in plenty of time for the holidays. I suggest that parents take advantage now, while supplies are readily available, and avoid the Christ-mas rush. We do not need another Cabbage Patch or Talking Elmo incident, with parents standing in line for days on end just to get the toy of the season.

I consider this a victory for Jesus and for all of His children (under 13).

  7. This is the only post of yours that I’ve read and agreed with, but say God Almighty. G-d makes me feel like you are marking out a part of His name.
