Sore Loser McCain Downplays Ames

Filed under: Election 2008,John McCain — Psycheout @ 12:00 pm

Angry John McCainUnlike John Cox, who was thrilled with his 41 votes, unhinged McLame is furious about his poor performance, netting just 60 more votes than his closest rival, Cox, who was dead last. McCain tried to downplay the significance of the poll, but the underlying rage was undeniable.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Monday shrugged off his 10th-place finish in the Iowa straw poll this past weekend, calling such contests meaningless.

Of course he knows the meaningless result. 10 out of 11, John. 10 out of 11. That’s 1%, Johnny.

McCain, who garnered 101 votes, said he was surprised to get that many.

“I thought it would be zero,” McCain said.

Sure you did. Bristling at reporters, McCain reiterated: “I think straw polls are meaningless and that’s all.” Then he stomped off in a huff.

Congratulations on beating John Cox, Senator McCain. Well done.

  2. You just seem to want to contradict everything I say.

The sky is blue. Your turn.

  3. I think McCain is a man who does not realize that his political day in the sun is over, and is not being graceful about it.

  4. Here’s my theory:

People really, really dislike our current president, and McLame is the candidate who most reminds them of our current president. How McLame does from here on out is a pretty good indication of how they feel about our current president.

And watching Rove “resign” doesn’t really change a thing. I’m glad Rove’s gone, but the truth is, he’s not really gone.

Aside from Brownback, this group of candidates is extremely weak. I’m beginning to think that 1) A Democrat will take over in 2008, and 2) the Republicans want it that way, because no one will be able to look good with the mess they will inherit. Even Brownback will be mired down in the deficit mess, the peak oil mess, the global warming mess, the Iraq mess, and goodness-knows how many other messes Bush got us into without letting us know.

I’m thinking I will vote Republican in 2008; probably Sam, but some Republican, because a Republican truly deserves to follow a Republican this time.

Vote Republican in 2008: We got it comin’ to us.

Not a contradiction. He said he doesn’t care, so why do you?
