It would appear that the supposedly conservative Political Pale Horse blog is an elaborate parody. Blogger.com (the parody website’s host) has issued an official statement about the blog that unmasks it for what it is: a big joke. We at B4B are shocked at this news, but the words speak for themselves:
With regard to recent press reports about Blogger.com hosting a blog entitled “Political Pale Horse”.
Blogger.com (a division of google.com) has received some worrying comments with regard to this blog through our admin site. The “Political Pale Horse” site is a parody. Please do not forward any comments with regard to racist language, personal abuse or civil action suits to Blogger.com as we are not responsible for the content on the blog, merely as a host for the site.
Please use the “Political Pale Horse” blog as it was intended: for entertainment purposes only.
The Blogger.com Team.
It has been revealed to me that The Political Pale Horse is a parody blog. A spokesperson for the GOP, who didn’t know about the blog site until told by a reporter, declined to comment.
It appears that online spoofs do cloud political stances. This will be an interesting electoral season.
Interesting, indeed. Well I guess that proves it. Political Pale Horse is a parody and thus should be completely ignored and laughed at and pointed at from now on. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t have read it. Words don’t lie. It’s simply amazing.
Who knows what tomorrow may bring….
Update: An anonymous source from high up in the Republican party had this to say (on condition of absolute anonymnity):
“Frankly, we are flattered that an individual would take hours out of their day and sit behind a computer anonymously to make a parody of the GOP’s consistent, conservative positions on the issues. It certainly is one of the weirder hobbies out there.”
We at B4B agree. It’s a strange, strange world sometimes.
Update 2: Only when the pressure is applied do other conservative blogs discuss whether or not Political Pale Horse is one of their own. Over at Protein Wisdom, Jeff Goldstein refuses to answer whether Political Pale Horse is genuine or not. His only response was “I don’t know who you’re talking about. I’ve never heard of Political Pale Horse.”
When conversations between Political Pale Horse and Protein Wisdom were noticed by B4B readers, we confronted PW. Goldstein quickly deleted the entire post.
Update 3: Political Pale Horse will not appear in our blogroll until further notice. We do not link to parody blogs as a matter of policy.
