Pray for Sam Brownback

PrayThis is a great idea. And Brownbackers are making it happen.

If you believe in God and the power of prayer, Lonnie Berger wants you to do something for him.

He wants you to pray that Sam Brownback does well in the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames on Aug. 11.

Absolutely. I’m in.

Brownback, a Republican senator from Kansas, is running for president of the United States, and doing well at Ames could be critical for the future of his campaign.

Berger, who calls himself Brownback’s “Prayer Coordinator,” has a website called and sent out an e-mail urging everyone to “pray that God would supernaturally activate the Christians in Iowa to pray and go to the straw poll to vote for Sam.”

Awesome. The power of prayer is indisputable. It’s time to put those hands together for our man Sam. Can I get an amen?

Also: “Pray for God to break the spiritual strongholds over Iowa that would keep Sam from being brought more into the national spotlight” and “Pray that God would use this poll to weed out those candidates that would push our country away from the Lord.”

Lastly, “Pray that God would bring Sam to the top and that his campaign would get huge national coverage in the media.”

It’s time for Brownbackers to put faith into action. The time, dear friends, is now. The Lord is waiting for your call.

Berger, who is independent of the Brownback campaign, is not naive. He knows that when it comes to the Ames straw poll there is something almost as important as prayer: buses.

So he asks that you also “pray for the logistics” of getting thousands of Brownback supporters in Iowa onto buses and on their way to Ames.

Your prayers are valuable and powerful. Let’s put them to good use.

Visit Pray for Brownback and put your prayers on the line. It’s the right thing to do. It’s the Christian thing to do. It’s the American thing to do.

PrayDear Lord, please give fellow Brownbackers in Iowa the strength and means they need to give Senator Sam Brownback the votes he needs to win the Ames straw poll and the upcoming caucusses. Sam is your servant. He is America’s public servant. Let him be your vessel down here, oh Lord. Let his cup runneth over.

Please bless Sam and Mary and the entire Brownback family. Help them to renew America and the world. This principled, conservative Republican will do your work here on Earth, as you well know. And we are thankful that you have given him to us. Praise be to G-d!

Brownback in 2008. And beyond.

In Jesus’ holy name,

Feel free to post your own prayers and your hopes and dreams in the comment thread. G-d will hear your prayers. And that what must be done, will be done, in His name. May the Heavenly Father bless you all.

A Reminder: Ames is less than two weeks away. The time for prayer and outreach to friends in Iowa is NOW! Just do it.

  1. oh Lord. Please look upon my request with godly favour and dispensation. I ask and beseach you to bestow upon the future president of these United States of the middle of the northern section of America, Mr Brownback, a piercing gaze that will unmask and betray the innermost sinfull secrets of all those who oppose him, while at the same time respecting the privacy rights of Brownback supporters.

OH LORD. Please be it for you to grant this gaze and with it the ability to discern the hidden desires and filthy disgusting habits of the RINOs and false christians and evil DEMONcrats so that the glorious Brownback can USE this information to whip and beat these recalcitrant hippies into line and have everyone vote for him for president, so that your will will be willed into being.

Lastly, OH LORD, please be so kind as to reccommend my new OMNIVOUR digital wireless self-contained, self powering, storage and encrypted data transmission eavesdropping devices to the future president for his use and edification.

For this I pray of LORD.

  3. With Brownback’s current Iowa poll numbers, I don’t think even “the power of prayer” can help 🙂

    06/13/2007 – 07/25/2007
    Romney 24.5
    Giuliani 15.0
    Thompson 15.5
    McCain 9.8
    Huckabee 3.8
    Brownback ???

“Brownie, you’re doing a heck of a job!”

  5. Dear Lord,

Be with the entire Brownback family as they prevail against the RINOs in the Ames straw poll, effortlessly capture the GOP nomination, and win the Presidential Election in 2008. Father, guide them along each step that they take and send huge Warring angels to protect them from the Godless Liberals, RINOs, and Media Demons who distort polls and spread lies. You have anointed Sam Brownback to carry your chosen country into the End Times and it is your will, Lord, that his supporters stop at nothing to deter his victory.

In Your name and Sam Brownback’s service,

    Mrs. T.D. Gaines-Crockett

  7. Tyler Durden,

Even if you casually mentioned that today was July 31, 2007 A.D., I would feel compelled to check my calendar because every other word out of your mouth is a half-truth. There is no way any poll that you post is not tainted or biased in some form or fashion.

And btw, it’s August 01, 2007 in Auckland, New Zealand – what’s your point? 😉

  16. Dear Lord, please help those misguided people who believe that your kingdom will be established by earthly politicians. Help them to realize that freedom comes from you, not through a flag or a nation. Help them to realize that there are christians that are not conservitive republicans, and that you are not a member of a political party. Also help them remember that when you sent your son to earth he didn’t go to Rome and try to change the politics of the day, he stayed in Jerusalem and changed people’s hearts. Help them to realize that true Christianity is not pushing family values down other people’s throats, but through helping and loving other people.

  17. Unbelievable!!!!!!!! Brownback just called it quits LIVE on FoxNews:

    Ed Note
: a fake link. There is nothing on Fox news about Brownback withdrawing from the race. Hopefully, not a deliberate attempt to sabotage Brownback’s supporters’ computers. I will run Norton now, and Tyler, may God help you if my computer has contracted a virus from that link.
