Race 4 2008 Interviews Sam Brownback

Race 4 2008 continues its excellent coverage of all aspects of the 2008 Presidential campaign. You’ve really got to respect the effort that goes into this excellent political blog. I read it every day.

They have an exclusive interview with Sam Brownback today [but they’re not going to run it until monday]. I’m on my way to read it now. You should check it out too.

Update: I would be remiss if I didn’t provide a teaser to encourage clicking through. What issues are Iowans interested in? Senator Brownback’s issues:

The underlying issue for much of it [the Senator’s recent Iowa bus tour] was that we have got to get some of these basics right: rebuilding the family, [being] Pro-Life, and standing for marriage.

Sam should do quite well in Iowa.

Update 2: The internet hiccupped. The interview has disappeared, hopefully only temporarily. I did save a copy in my Brownback clippings folder. So I may post some more excerpts if it doesn’t reappear soon. Sorry for the inconvenience. The interview is quite good and includes questions on abortion (pro-life), a solution for Iraq and taxes. Sam’s answers are thoughtful and everything we’d expect from a first-class conservative.

Update 3: Apparently I got a sneak peek of an interview that will run on monday. I’ll link to it when it is officially posted. You’ll have to make do with the teaser quote for now. So comment on the quote or consider this an open thread. And excuse my clairvoyance!

Update 4: The interview has been posted.  Try here.

  1. Just out of curiosity, does Sen. Brownback have any policies, or even opinions about any of the issues that actually face our country today? The “family” (And by that does he mean the Mafia? That’s a lovely Catholic organization.) and “standing for marriage” are the same tired, meaningless crap we’ve been hearing for years. No marriage or family is going to last long when both spouses have to work two jobs each because capitalists steal all the surplus value working people create. What’s Senator Sam going to do about that? Oh, that’s right, sell us out to Opus Dei and other rich Catholic Fascists. Answered my own question.

  2. Sadly, M. Bouffant, you’ll have to wait until monday to be proven wrong. The Senator answers questions about how to wrap up the Iraq conflict and how to fix the tax code, in addition to expressing his “pro-life, whole life” message.

I have read the interview and have a copy of it on my computer. But since Race 4 2008 has decided to wait until monday to post it, you’ll just have to wait until then to read it.
