50 Fewer Islamists to Worry About

Good for Pakistan:

Eight Pakistani commandos and 50 student militants are dead after Pakistani security forces stormed an Islamabad mosque compound Tuesday morning, minutes after negotiations fell through between a government delegation and radical Islamic students inside, military sources said.

Gunfire erupted moments after an announcement from the government’s chief negotiator, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, that talks to end the standoff had failed. As dawn broke over the Pakistani capital, heavy black smoke rose from the site of the mosque and the death toll began to rise.

Dozens of ambulances were parked near the site, waiting for the area to be safe enough to enter.

“After 11 hours of negotiations, we are deeply disappointed that the talks did not succeed,” Hussain said, adding that Abdul Rashid Ghazi — the cleric leading the stand-off inside — said “no” to every offer from the government.

I’m not. I think we know 50 lunatics who won’t be leading terrorist attacks against the United States ever again.

In a larger sense, this is an encouraging development. Pakistan, like Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, has finally realized that allowing swarms of gun-toting Islamofascist maniacs to run around ranting and raving about how the Taliban should run the world is not necessarily good for internal security. Pakistan had more reason to tolerate it than Saudi Arabia does, maybe, since terrorist madmen were useful for their proxy war against India over Jammu-Kashmir. But short-term tactical gain is a pretty useless excuse when your government officials are being lined up against a wall and sharia law is getting imposed in every street in the country. It’s good to see that Pakistan has wised up. Once they excise this cancer from the body politic, and pound Waziristan into rubble, the rest of the world will be all the safer for it.

America should stand behind them in this endeavour. I know President Brownback will, but hopefully the situation will have resolved itself before he’s even inaugurated. This is one of those problems that has a way of being dealt with quickly. Pakistan has worked with these crazies for 25 years. It knows everything there is to know about them, how they think, where they’re financed, where they operate, how they operate, where they live. It should be able to crush them with due celerity. That’s my hope, anyway.

If we could add a couple more zeros and bring it up to 5,000 Mulsims exterminated we woul really have cause to celebrate. I won’t complain though, this is a step in the right direction. A blessing is a blessing no matter how you look at it.

Except that Saudi Arabia is already run by “Islamofascists” that have imposed Sharia law already, and oddly enough that doesn’t stop you from doing business with them.

  4. If we would just start dropping those so-called “Atom bombs” all over the Middle East we could solve the problem once and for all. The bombs would leave huge holes, which we could simply bulldoze the infidels into and bury. The land, oil, and Freedom would be ours. Period.

Hey, you granola-crunching Yuppie hypocrite, unless you live on a commune and don’t drive or buy any goods that come off a truck, you do business with them yourself. Last time I checked, moonbats didn’t have special solar-powered infrastructures that gave them the right to look down on decent Americans.

“Over 7,500 fewer virgins avaible in paradise! If these jihadis keep dying at their present rate Allah will have to recycle the virgins.”

Fortunately, that’s all a lie. Those virgins they’re expecting will actually prove to be pitchfork-wielding demons. Hell is a realm of disappointed expectations.

It may come to that. But say that to one of these treefrogs, and watch them throw a hissy fit. The “reality-based” community is surprisingly afraid to look reality in the face.

  8. 50 people dying due to war is never good–no matter the side. It’s sad that bloodshed had to be the source.

Crockett: (You’re my favorite. Remember the watching?) The ones leading all these terrorist attacks are the radical Muslims. A normal Muslim is basically like a normal Christian. (Someone who follows a set of religious beliefs–both of which hold to a more peaceful living, and conversion of the other through nonviolent acts.) You’re stereotyping again guys. Taking over someone’s country because you don’t agree with them or for their resources is once more–stupid. Shall we think of the political effects that destroying another culture would inact? Do you forget the other countries of the world? Do you think of trade? Do you know what one of those bombs does to a place? But I’ll entertain you for a moment–let’s bomb them for their land. Do you know what one of those bombs does to a place? The land would be worthless. The things you would want–gone. Any value the place would’ve had–gone. The people (which make the economy and thus the monetary value) are gone. Get it?

  9. La Mona said, “A normal Muslim is basically like a normal Christian”

What you are saying is akin to Blasphemy, La Mona, and you have overstepped the bounds of debate into sheer heresy. The Muslims are not normal and they are nothing at all like Christians as you so naively say. Perhaps you better take a break from posting comments on adult matters and find something more age appropriate to do.

I for one will be so glad when school starts back and these unsupervised children aren’t interfering in things that they know nothing about.

    Comment by Mrs. T.D. Gaines-Crockett — July 10, 2007 @ 9:03 am | Reply

  10. Crockett: When school is in I stay up later and wake up earlier, and all my courses are taken online. Even MORE access to a computer. As far as my analogy, I didn’t refer to their beliefs being the same (other than both being a religion, and both trying to be peaceful). I mean that the terrorist you seek are the radicals. You are shoved too deep in your stereotypes and black-and-white thinking that you cannot see simple analogy because it might draw a line between to seemingly unrelated items. Perhaps if you quoted me beyond what you did to include what I have written in the “(…)” it would be easier for you to comprehend.

Perhaps you should “grow up” so that you can accurately comment on these so-called “adult matters.” These happenings affect me as much as you. And age is irrelevant after a point.

  12. La la la la, I’m not listening, la la la la!

Once again, a truly stellar and formidable argument from Gaines-Crocket. Why, you’re sharper than a page of Oscar Wilde witticisms rolled into a point, drenched in lemon juice, and stabbed into someone’s eye. Where do you get your material? You must be a smart, smart girl. Obviously your husband lets you read lots of books between pregnancies.

Once again, La Mona approaches arguments with wit, tact and decency. You, however, try (the key word here is “try; you actually fail miserably) to shoot her down with stupid comments and pure insults. Gaines-Crockett, the ears NEVER listened; they’re stuffed full of useless dogma. YOU are, in fact, the one who needs to grow up. I teach 12 year olds swimming who are more mature and intelligent than you.

  13. Oops, forgot to mention in the previous post…

Yes, teh fact that you celebrate the deaths of any 50 people shows me that you are, in fact, not Christians. Even the Catholic Church puts prayers forth for the deaths and suffering of Muslims. Isn’t one of Brownback’s campaign policies the respect of ALL life, from embryos to ethnic cleansing victims in Darfur? By celebrating the deaths of these Muslims, not only are you spitting in the face of God, but every good Christian as well. Hope you like Hell🙂

Do you think that perhaps you should listen?

And Crockett, you were doing so good. You had my name right. What happened? Did I back you too far into your corner? You’re only proving my points with what you are doing here. I never said I agreed with them. I said that there are similarities that you fail to see or comprehend due to ignorant black-and-white thinking. Tjo think that education is not valuable, and that what I have is waste only proves previous points…

Actually, my parents won’t let me go as far as I would like. My parents enjoy having me very much so, and they think that you people are sick ignorant fools and don’t understand why I pity you to the point of sticking around and giving you some of my time. Once more you are assuming things Crockett. We’ve talked about this. REmember? Try real hard for me. “I believe Mrs. Gaines-Crockett is quite well educated and her education is turned to brilliance by her devotion to Christ!”

And that’s why you remain as you do. That devotion to Christ is full of misconceptions and deeply rooted tradition that makes most anything irrelevant now. I wish to see this education.

  34. *yawn* The reason you think I become more and more incoherent is because you have twisted yourself up in a little ball (not literally I would hope…metaphor like if you will) and shoved your fingers in your ears shouting “la la la la la. I can’t hear you. I refuse to listen!” That is the mental picture of it all. Now, if you would take those fingers out of your ears and listen to what I have to say instead of sinking to insulting me with accusations when I don’t do that to you (at least none that are baseless) you may comprehend better. Listening always boosts comprehension.

If you had listened to two iotas of what I’ve said you would know that I value my body and mind greatly and would never abuse it with a drug. 98% of American teens have tried pot–I’m in the 2%. One cannot judge someone by the majority when that someone is “one” and not “everyone.” Think about it.

  40. “I’m not. I think we know 50 lunatics who won’t be leading terrorist attacks against the United States ever again. ”

As if they ever planned. Heck, they and the Paki government stated that they only wanted to perform actions in their own country.

Ok, so Mr. dictator Musharraf has decided to continue dancing on the volcanos edge by trying to balance the extremists interests with american interests. I can only wish him good luck. He´s playing a dangerous game and should he fail, we´ll have a lot of islamists having their own nuclear arsenal.

Ahh, here someone shows his face. Exterminatinating all muslims? No wonder they want to kill you. Such statements really make one think about who´s the bad guy here. Because good guys don´t throw around such things.

Except that said bombs would also blow up the oil and radiate the area for centuries to come. Oh, and of course we´d have a lot of nukes coming back for the USA. But that´s not really a reason, the world can clearly get along without it´s biggest bully.
