Sunday Morning Prayer for Sam Brownback

Filed under: Election 2008,Family,Prayers,Pro-Life,Republicans,Sam Brownback — Mrs. T.D. Gaines-Crockett @ 6:31 am

I pray that this good man will receive all of the blessings that he so richly deserves. Amen.

I just received this email that proves what a wonderful President Sam Brownback is going to make:

Gerald Morrison, a man from my church, received a call from a woman who serves on President Elect Sam Brownback’s campaign in Wichita. She called him to tell this story.

Last week, Senator Sam Brownback visited the Trojan Elementary School gym in Osawatomie, Kansas on his tour of flooded areas in Kansas, and was going table to table to greet the hundreds of flood relief volunteers.

He got to one lady, a woman who lost everything in the flood, but was still helping other victims. During their brief conversation she indicated to Sam Braownback that she was a Christian. She was there with her 15 year old son. Senator Brownback asked the boy if he was a believer in Jesus Christ, too. He said he didn’t think so.

Senator Brownback asked the boy, “Do you mind if I tell you how I came to know Christ as my Savior?” The boy agreed, and Senator Brownback sat down next to the boy on a box of donated clothes and helped pass out items to the flood victims. While he was helping Sam Brownback witnessed to this 15 year old boy him for 45 minutes, and led him in the sinners prayer!!

Gerald’s cousin was so choked up, she could hardly tell the story through tears.

Yes, my dear friend, we are living in the in times. How glorious to know that Senator Sam Brownback, possibly our new president, is the kind of man that doesn’t feel the political pressure to back down from sharing his faith in Jesus Christ, and would take 45 minutes of his precious time to help flood victims and lead a teenager to Christ. This is the kind of man who America needs running the country. America needs a Christian who loves hi country, that will work with the downtrodden, and will take the time to talk about Jesus Christ with a 15 year old boy.

Please forward this email to everyone you know and keep it going so they will know just what kind of man Senator Sam Brownback really is. A good man. A Chrsitian Man. A leader. The kind of man we need as our President in 2008.

  2. Brownback just did something that one in every twenty-nine other Christians do–shared his story/faith. So, should 1/29 of the Christian population be running for the presidency? What I’m saying is, there are many people out there that do that same thing every day, yet some would not give them second notice. Brownback may be a nice guy, but it takes more than that for the presidency.

  3. Posting a prayer is acceptable for any Christian as there are many homebound people who cannot attend a proper church service. Speaking of which I need to run.

    God Bless Everyone!

  4. I see where that old German in the funny hat wants to return to celebrating the Catholic mass in a dead language. Well hocus pocus. I hope this idiocy is enough to make Sam reject Romanism.

  7. My respect for Senator Brownbeck just soared to new heights. There was the boy who just lost everything and Sam had the kindness to sit him down and explain to the boy it was the boy’s sin that angered God so much He destroyed his momma’s house. Sam is a good Christian and may God bless him.

  8. Bj, you like to make things up, don’t you? He never said that the boy’s sin destroyed his family home.

  9. BJ, you’re letting your bias show. There is absolutely no evidence that Senator Brownback said that at all. For all that you know, he could have just been offering stories of hope and faith to the boy, to illustrate to him that when things seem their darkest, there is always a glimmer of light. I know it’s easier for you to categorize all Christians into one unflattering little box, but the majority of us Christians live our lives in God’s light and love, and try to be good, kind, charitable people.

Unforunately, we’re ignored, as it’s so much more newsworthy to talk about people who are hateful and biased, and who pervert the name of Christ in order to try to lend some sort of legitimacy or respectability to their hatred. It is not my place to judge, but it truly saddens me to see those who hurt others, using Christ’s name. It saddens me for two reasons: 1. Because they are hurting others in the first place, which goes against everything that Christ taught and 2. Because when one truly believes in and loves their faith and their savior, it is a source of joy that just permeates into everything, and those people are missing out on that happiness because they are too blinded by their own biases.

And personally, looking at how Senator Brownback lives his life, I think he is one of those Christians who truly “gets it.” He lives a good life with integrity and morals, and has not based his campaign upon speaking ill of others. Perhaps it is a comment on our society that his reluctance to engage in mudslinging is not being more highly rewarded or commented upon. What does it say about us that when we find a politician with true integrity and kindness, so many of our ideological compatriots are instead falling at the feet of a cardboard “manly man”?

  10. Adam Nelson @“Bj, you like to make things up, don’t you? He never said that the boy’s sin destroyed his family home.”

Really? “While he was helping Sam Brownback witnessed to this 15 year old boy him for 45 minutes, and led him in the sinners prayer!!” Now what do you think they were discussing if the boy felt the need to repent at the end of it??? Maybe Sam didn’t tell the child directly the child’s unbelief brought the wrath of God down upon his mother’s house but clearly the child realized he needed to set himself right with Jesus when Sam was done.

This why Sam is a great man and should be president; he can deliver awful news in a way that gets positive action out of people and not a defensive reaction. This is what leadership is all about.

Frankly I don’t know whether to be outraged or amused that you, Interpreted and Lysse call yourselves Christians consider how you refuse to acknowledge the power of God when it is clearly in action. This kid was an atheist dirt bag, on the fast tract to Hell, probably engaged in non-spot self pollution and only a step away from becoming a gay serial killer. Jesus, in His infinite love, took pity on the child and nudge his elbow with this flood to open the child eyes before it was too late. Sam just stepped in as a good Christian to seal the deal for Christ.

It’s what any real Christian would have done.

  11. Wow, BJ, your ignorance knows no bounds.

Ignoring your terrible grammar (tract, non-spot, etc. etc.) let’s talk about you. There’s a big difference between a kid accepting Jesus and repenting for the sins committed earlier in his life, and Brownback telling him that his sin was responsible for his family’s plight. To even suggest such a wild extrapolation shows how irresponsible you are with “facts”.

Also, you seem to be pretty inconsistent with God’s line of punishing. So he bulldozes kids’ homes and leaves them with nothing because of their past sins, and yet the supposed “Darwinists” that run the country and revel in their heresy are allowed to continue to “corrupt” the country?. Hmm.

And to let you know, BJ, I never once told you that I was a Christian. For all you know, I could be a Buddhist or Muslim or follow Taoism or something like that. And no, that kids was NOT on the fast “tract” (look up the word tract… I’m laughing pretty hard at your usage right now🙂 ). Do you actually know anything of the kid’s history or life? No. And yet you make astronomical claims about him one step away from “turning gay” and killing people. Now do you understand why people call you insane? You just make things up man… you’re a chronic liar!!

  12. Nice story. If it´s true, Sam just made a few points with me. It stays, I don´t agree with many of his politics and stuff, but he himself seems to be quite okay. But then, i can say the same about Barrack Obama. ANd his politics are way better. Still, I do respect Brownback ofr being a honest man. You should try respecting your opposition, too.

“I see where that old German in the funny hat wants to return to celebrating the Catholic mass in a dead language. Well hocus pocus. I hope this idiocy is enough to make Sam reject Romanism.”

He wants to give the preachers themselves the choice, not to force them. That´s quite a differrence.

  13. “There’s a big difference between a kid accepting Jesus and repenting for the sins committed earlier in his life, and Brownback telling him that his sin was responsible for his family’s plight.”

I said Sam didn’t tell the kid that, he just helped him focus on Jesus at this moment of trauma for the kid. The kid was obviously bright enough to draw his own conclusions. Why else would you talk to someone about Jesus who is in shock and disoriented? If Sam was just trying to push Christianity on the kid that would make him some kind of metaphysical rapists preying on the vulnerable. No, Sam’s a better man than that. Sam saw someone drowning in sin and threw him a lifeline before the kid brought down more Judgment upon himself and his family.

“ and yet the supposed “Darwinists” that run the country and revel in their heresy are allowed to continue to “corrupt” the country?. Hmm.”

Darwinists don’t run the country. GW Bush is no Darwinist. The Darwinists are trying take over the country to steal it from us Christian whom Jesus gifted this country to. When they do that God’s judgment will be upon America and He will lift His veil of protection. After that we will be wide open to every Jihadist, commie, illegal alien and Frenchmen who wants to hurt us. That’s what Jesus’ message to us on 9/11 was. Sam is listing to it and is doing his bit to put a stop to it.

“Do you actually know anything of the kid’s history or life? No. And yet you make astronomical claims about him one step away from “turning gay” and killing people.”

He was an atheists. What else is there to know? Atheist have no morality since they don’t have God so they just run around doing what ever depraved act that crosses their mind. Just look at Stalin and Hitler. An atheists would just as well murder you and rape your corpse as say good morning to you.

It is all you can expect out of someone who has no fear of judgment.

  14. “He was an atheists. What else is there to know? Atheist have no morality since they don’t have God so they just run around doing what ever depraved act that crosses their mind. I’m an atheist. I have no criminal record. Hell, I play the organ at the Missionary church and just yesterday I played the violin with my fiancee (who plays the trumpet) for a wedding at the same church. I don’t rape, kill, or do any of the things you advocate atheists as doing. And living in Canada, a decidedly left and liberal country, we have a far lower crime rate than you do.

Also, atheists have morals. I don’t draw my morals from the Bible though. I don’t need to. I know enough not to harm other people, and I retain my morals out of consideration for other people, not out of fear from a deity. Those aren’t morals. That’s snivelling spinelesness. A truly good man does things because they are good, not because he’s afraid of what happens if he doesn’t. I have no fear of any “judgement”, yet I am a good and honest man who leads a good and charitable life.

“When they do that God’s judgment will be upon America and He will lift His veil of protection. After that we will be wide open to every Jihadist, commie, illegal alien and Frenchmen who wants to hurt us.”

Wow, do you listen to yourself?? Commie? Illegal alien? Frenchman!? Do you think any of these people actually CARE about the US, let alone want to destroy it?? America is a lot less important to the world than you think, buddy. You are very, very vain to think that people care enough about your existence to want to destroy it.

“It is all you can expect out of someone who has no fear of judgment.”

Like I said, I do good things because they are good, not because I fear the repercussions of doing something bad. Any idiot can refuse to do something out of fear. Only good, moral people can hold morals because they themselves want it. Motivation by fear is nothing. Those aren’t morals.

They have “stolen it so many times without anything happening that either god doen´t care or that he has never especially protected the USA in the first place. (Jesus gifted it? HE was dead for a long time the time it was discovered. And then turned into a non-christian state, as both the constitution and the TReaty of Tripoli state. You know that the treaty of Tripoli was accepted by the Congress unanimously?)
PS: All the french have ever done to your country was helping or ignoring you. THey never attempted to attack you and I can´t see them having any intent in that direction, either.

“He was an atheists. What else is there to know? Atheist have no morality since they don’t have God so they just run around doing what ever depraved act that crosses their mind. Funny, considering that Hitler was christian….
(Otherwise, there´s a simple saying: Don´t do onto others what you don´t want to be done to you. And there´s a thing called conscience. And even though I´m agnostic, I never committed any crime or did something else showing me to be “depraved off all morality.”)
So stop that bullshit rumor spreading. Your petty calim has no foundation whatsoever.

“It is all you can expect out of someone who has no fear of judgment.”

If you´re only behaving like a good man because you fear punishment, I honestly pity you. You must be a very amoral man.
