Lebanon-1, Bad Guys-0

Looks like the terrorists lost big time in Lebanon:

Lebanon’s defense minister declared victory Thursday over the Fatah Islam militant group, saying it had been crushed after a month-long military assault on its stronghold in a northern refugee camp and only mopping up remained.

A Muslim cleric who has been acting as a mediator said later that Fatah Islam agreed to stop firing, and calm descended over the Nahr el-Bared camp outside the port of Tripoli

The battle, Lebanon’s worst internal violence since the 1975-90 civil war, killed 76 soldiers, at least 60 militants and more than 20 civilians. It came amid a fierce political power struggle between the Western-backed government and an opposition led by the militant Hezbollah.

“The Lebanese army has destroyed all Fatah Islam positions,” Defense Minister Elias Murr said on the private Lebanese Broadcasting Television. “The army is combing the area. This terrorist organization has been uprooted.”

Looks like those Islamist crazies will think twice before they show their ugly faces in Beirut again! Kudos to the American spooks for covertly funding this operation! (I know, I know, they’ll publicly deny it… But that’s part of their job, right?)

Now if Israel would just go in and wipe out the crazies in Gaza, these loonies in Iraq would stop receiving as much foreign support, and we could clean that place up in no time.

Oh, man, that army must really, really suck if its casualty rate is higher than that of the Jihadists!

    Come quick, Father!

Good. That means two weeks from now, more Islamists will die. Every Islamist who dies in Lebanon is one less Islamist our boys in Iraq need to worry about.

  5. You really think they´re gone?

Pity you. That´s the problem with religious extremism and terrorism. As long as you don´t eliminate the source of it, the reason for it, those guys spawn at an alarming rate. And the cell system makes them as easily to eradicate as a colony of cockroaches.

And the guys at Gaza are fighting against Israel. They don´t have the time to come over to Iraq. They´ve got enough targets right at their doorsteps.

Okay, what were the Lebanese doing? Having more trained soldiers killed than militants and having 20 civilians getting caught in the fighting is not a good testimony to their skills. Not at all.

Yeah, but everyone of those being killed by the Lebanese in that spiral of violence spawns another 2. And one of those two might decide to fight in Iraq.

They do the best they can. Still, the militants lost. Next time, the Army will be better-prepared.

I had no idea Islamists reproduced asexually. It makes sense, though; their ideology is a virus of thought, so their bodies probably act like bacteria.

That is creepy. It’s like they’re not even human. Why have we not wiped these people out yet?!?

I was more talking about more of the rather harmless kind getting enraged and willing to join Hamas, Fatah, etc…

I doubt that. Situtations like that should be part of any infantryman´s training to begin with.

Who are you to know that it is the end times – Acts 1:6-7 says that we don’t –

‘6 So when they met together, they asked him, Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?
7 He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.’
