Looks like his campaign’s dying with a whimper, not a bang:
Rep. Tom Tancredo plans to change direction in his long-shot presidential campaign so he can pressure fellow Republicans into rejecting an immigration reform plan he considers “amnesty.”
Before a debate tonight on CNN, Tancredo, R-Littleton, told reporters he soon plans to scale back his weekly visits to the early caucus and primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire. He’s going ahead with previously scheduled events, including a four-day trip to Iowa starting Thursday.
Republicans who are serious about sensible policy on illegal immigration should now flock to Brownback in droves. Tancredo’s isolationism is alluring, perhaps even attractive; Brownback’s position may seem undesirable at first, but upon closer inspection one learns that he alone has the heart to carry out coherent, comprehensive reform.
Many on the Right will disagree with me there, but they should realize this- if they’re not supportive of the President and Senator Brownback on this one, they’re RINOs, for their grievances only embolden our enemies, the Democrats, by driving Hispanic voters into their arms. Think about having a Clinton in office for 8 more years before you sit this election out just because of one issue.
(Hat tip: Red State, which is calling for the end of the Ron Paul and Tommy Thompson campaigns next. I, for one, have no problem with that.)
“Tancredo” What kind of name is that? Ending with a vowel? Not very American/Republican , is it? Is it Catholic? Does he wear an earring? Is he a “confirmed bachelor”?

They will drop one by one like dominoes leaving God’s soldier, Senator Brownback, as the last man standing.

In a just world, it would be Rudy McRomney dropping out.

Sisyphus: “…the Democrats, by driving Hispanic voters into their arms.”
Pull your head out of the sand. Look at blue state Calimexico with its faux-Republican governator. They vote DEMOCRAT (2:1 ratio of Democrat to Republican US reps). Once you get your wish they will have millions more good little DEMOCRATS! They know who is buttering their bread. I simply can not fathom why you people, who seem so reasonable and conservative on most issues, fall all over yourselves to honor and legalize law breakers. Astounding! Simply amazing! Do you really think that whoever gives them super-citizen status first will buy their votes?
By your definition if someone stands up and opposes a large government, open/non-existant border politician (Brownback), than that person is a RINO along with the the immoral pro-abortion, multi-divorce, wishy-washy candidates?
We forgive you of your large government ways and your desires to see the US converted into a third world cesspool like Mexico, Sam… In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.
When a politician stops listening to the people that elected him and only takes his direction from lobbyists (La Raza, US Chamber of Commerce, etc.) it is time to remove that politician. The arrogance of the senators in the US Senate is amazing.

Hey DRS, if this world was run right Rudy McRomney and the like would be in Vermont with the rest of the I-hate-America crowd instead of pretending to be a Republican.

I have to say that I somewhat agree with James, although it won’t dissuade me from voting for Brownback. If the price for a pro-life, pro-Christian, anti-pop-science, anti-terrorism America is putting up with illegal immigrants temporarily, I guess I’ll have to live with it. Brownback could always deal with the problem after he gets into office.

I’ve wondered about this, too. To me it sounds almost Hispanic. Maybe there’s more to his immigration policies than meets the eye…

I must quarrel with the use of the hateful word “Adios” in title of this post. I’m not sure what it means, but I AM sure that it isn’t part of the English language, to which Senator Brownback, Christ, and I have sworn absolute loyalty.

Tancredo is a good man. I’m not sure I want him as President, though. He might have to talk to Vincente Fox, and I don’t think that would go over very well.

Fox, now there is a good christian American name. Why doesn’t he run for office? Not President of course because Brownback is the man, but why not governor or Senator? Does anyone know his position on the rights of blasticyst Americans or NASA?

Tomas Alejandro Tancredo is his birth name. I know this because my illegal Mexican nanny is his second cousin. If you don’t believe me, you can ask her yourself.

Probably not.
“Does anyone know his position on the rights of blasticyst Americans or NASA?”
I’m sure he’s opposed to both of them.

I guess we’d better deport Tancredo, then!

But you know he wont. Just like you may take it to the bank that McCain and Kennedy would never deal with it except to make it worse. Once Sam gets in do you really think he would listen to you if you asked him to fix it? A fix to them is to allow double, triple, or more of the existing numbers to come in. He is part of the arrogant senate cabal that is only taking direction from La Raza and the Big Biz lobby. Those groups were in the closed chamber and had approval rights of language in S.1348 before it was reported out for limited debate. At least Sam voted to continue debate (against cloture) on senate vote 204. So maybe there is hope for Sam.
Question: Have any of you watched the Roy Beck NumbersUSA.com video about immigration? This video just deals with LEGAL immigration and its ramifications when numbers are increased. Here is the link to it:

The age-old pesky U.S.-Mexico border problem has taxed the resources of both countries, led to long lists of injustices, and appears to be heading only for worse troubles in the future. Guess what? The border problem can never be solved. Why? Because the border IS the problem! It’s time for a paradigm change.
Never fear, a satisfying, comprehensive solution is within reach: the Megamerge Dissolution Solution. Simply dissolve the border along with the failed Mexican government, and megamerge the two countries under U.S. law, with mass free 2-way migration eventually equalizing the development and opportunities permanently, with justice and without racism, and without threatening U.S. sovereignty or basic principles.
