Let’s Talk About Firearms

Senator Brownback understands that firearms are necessary for both home defense and more traditional purposes, like hunting and the formation of militias. The Second Amendment is the one which makes all others possible; without a well-armed citizenry, tyrants would easily swarm over the population and enslave us all. In Brownback’s words:

At the heart of the Bill of Rights is the Second Amendment. This Amendment guarantees an individual the right to keep and bear arms, which is essential, as the Amendment itself affirms, to “the security of a free state.” Restrictive gun control laws aimed at weakening this constitutional right are not the answer. Instead, it is important for the government to enforce criminal gun laws already on the books, for communities to stand against gun violence, and for parents to teach children about gun safety.

It is clear from their track record that Democrats, who have no value for civil liberties despite their posturing on behalf of Nazis and Islamists and child molesters, will take our guns away at the first available opportunity. This will make it easier for them to impose their politically correct, secular humanist agenda on the American people.

It is the duty of every American who values freedom, liberty and democracy to vote Republican in November 2008. However, no Republican candidate is better suited to the defense of these values than Senator Brownback. He alone adequately embodies the conservative positions on the issues that America needs to maintain our pre-eminence as the leader of the free world. He, alone, will keep America from becoming Frenchified, Sovieted, or Islamisized. Sadly, many of his opponents in both parties cannot make the same boast. That’s why we must fight TODAY to ensure Brownback is our President TOMORROW!

  1. I would argue that home defense is a traditional use for firearms. But other than that I agree with your post and like the website.

Brownback is the man for 2008!

Fair point. Mea culpa. But traditionally, homes didn’t need to be defended. It wasn’t until these liberal scumbags took over government and started coddling crooks, Commies, and immigrant trash that we even had to lock our doors at night. That’s what my grandparents told me, and I believe them.

  3. Well yeah, but a flintlock was a good way to keep the Redcoats out too. But I do remember hearing about the fifties (before my time) when you could leave your door unlocked without a liberal hippie trying to steal your TV so he could suppport his heroin habit.

No longer. An armed society is a polite society.

That, in itself, is a good enough reason to support Senator Brownback. But as a bonus, there’s so much more to like about this great American!

  4. So many liberals are anti-gun because they’re just ignorant of them and scared of them. To anybody who grew up in a gun-responsible household, they’re nothing to fear. You use them sensibly, safely, and make sure that gun safety is a lesson that is well-taught in your household. Yes, there are people who use guns to hurt innocents, but there are also people who use knives and baseball bats. Outlawing guns makes as much since as outlawing Louisville Sluggers or J.A. Henckels chef’s knives. The answer is tougher penalties for violent perpetrators, NOT a ban on their choice of tool.

  5. I think it’s ironic that the liberals want to disarm us at the same time as they want to open the borders to Islamists and criminals, as well as closing our jails down. Do they really think these undesirables will remember their generosity? Do they expect lenient treatment? Or are they terminally braindead?

It all reminds me of a t-shirt I used to own: “If ‘Stupid’ is the Answer, ‘Liberal’ must Be the Question.”

  6. You can take my Louisville Slugger when you pry it from my cold dead fingers. Then I’ll shoot you.

I was leaning towards supporting Tom Tancredo because he’s smart on the borders but he’s marginalized if not outright ignored by the drive-by MSM.

The more I hear about Brownback, the more there is to like.
