Tell It Like It Is, Sam!

Sam Brownback gave the Democrats what-for on their push to halt debate on a bill to let the terrorists win in Iraq:

“I am disappointed that Democratic leadership continues to deny the Senate the opportunity to have a full discussion of ideas on the very critical issue of the war in Iraq,” said Brownback. “It is important that the Senate has a full debate in which senators can offer amendments and vote on several different proposals.”

The Democrats are afraid of democracy. They know that if an open debate is allowed on this issue in the Senate, the American people will realize the only goal of the Democrats is to withdraw our troops in disgrace and defeat, ceding victory in Iraq to the Islamists.

This eagerness to cut and run is a disservice to our allies, a disservice to the Iraqi people, a disservice to the American people, and a disservice to the victims of Saddam’s regime. Some of those victims were Americans, lest we forget the lessons of 9/11. But they have been avenged.

We got rid of Saddam, the worst dictator the world has seen since Stalin; I’m confident we can take on the successors to chumps like Zarqawi, too. If the Democrats will let us, that is.

Keep fighting the good fight, Senator Brownback. The American people are behind you on this one.

That’s how I’d say it, Sam. But keep kicking bottom! America needs you!

  2. The insurgency won’t stop until every Iraqi is dead, because recent polls suggest the insurgents actually gained popular support from the majority of the Iraqi people, and really what does the US actually gain from the struggle?

The only way to get out of this is to cut Kurdistan (the relatively calm and pro-western northern part of Iraq) loose and let the rest fight it out.

You can keep the soldiers in Iraq for another 10 years and there would still be insurgents…

We bring freedom to the Middle East. Why do you find that so objectionable?

Only if we let Iran sit and fester. Luckily, I don’t think Bush plans on doing that.

  4. Man, Sisyphus, you used to be only disagreeable. Nowadays you’re a decaying ball of hate that lashes out at anything that gets too close, like Nintendo games and platypii.
Once upon a time, Sisyphus was simply a man with strong conservative convictions. now he has fallen into irrational hatred and immature vernacular. Such a sad tale.
